Federer will d. Baghdatis tomorrow, and Fish on Sunday; and save his 1000 points.

hmmmmmmm ... a "brand new user" who registered in May ... and this is his first post ...

... and on top of that, he's a *********, making bold pro roger posts ... but not until 3 months after registering ... hmmmmm

wonder who s/he really is

Must be a really deliberate poster.

I look forward to their next post in a few month's time.

Yes, I wonder which is more bizarre - that some poster waits three months for the first post, or some other poster rains 18000 posts in 2 years.:)

Roger in 2 probably. When he gets this far in events he usually plays to win and it takes someone better than Baghdatis (or probably anyone left here) to take him down. Baghdatis played great today but still barely got past an awful Nadal.

Nadal barely eked by Benneteau. He didn't play that badly. Bags just served too well.

that's no answer to my query at all. It's a pathetic ad hominem in an attempt to defend "new user"

wonder why someone would do that? Jump to the defense of a "new user" by flaming an established member of the community? hint: Posting is a good thing here, not a bad thing -- get with the program

hello! havent you learned anything yet? there's a club of rogertards who create duplicate identities for the express purpose of trolling threads in which he's one of the players.

p.s. the question was not "which is more bizarre", but rather the question was, "I wonder who s/he really is"?

so on the basis of just one post ( & joining date ), for saying federer will win this master series .... you are dumb enough to declare some one a "fed ****" .... bravo !

won't it be a bit prudent to wait and see a few more posts from that user before accusing him/her of something ?

No. Quality > Quantity. However, I realize that you have been fed the popular lie that having bazillion posts amounts to "contributing" to the forum.

There are "****s" connected to many players, not just Federer. And yes, I've learned quite a bit in my 5 years here. Enough to find one person with more than 10 duplicates - and a few others with 4 or 5 duplicates. I also learned not to be suspicious of someone after one post. That member has posted once and you say that he is making "bold pro-roger posts." Yes, one of us clearly over-reacted :) .

You want to know who s/he is? Well, I'll give you one possibility. I guess the person is a man, and he is a ceo :) .

Uhh overreacting much? Who knows, this poster could very well be a troll, but there was nothing about that post that indicated it. Someone's pretty angry I guess.

Anyway, Federer in 3 IMO.

haven't seen roger much this week but Baghdatis is playing well and must be very confident after this victory...I say it goes 3, thinking Roger pulls it off

6 central time 7 eastern.

and 4 pacific :)

===

markos has almost as terrible a H2H against roger (1-6) as he had against nadal before tonight's match (0-6) ...... tough call since roger's obviously played himself into decent form, but others have beaten both rafa and roger on their way to a tournament final ... so why not baggy too?!

In memory of Malakas, I gotta take baggy in 3! :D

First time I've ever pulled for Federer in a tournament. LOL. Just make it to the final, then I don't care if he wins or loses. He just needs to be number 2 for the US. Djokovic is a lousy number 2.

Though Baggy is playing well I have to go with Fed.
Fed's playing these last 2 masters more seriously than I've seen for awhile, maybe years.
I wouldn't mind if Baggy takes it though, it's good to see him back.

not too particular about "quoting," are you, oh brainy one? :o

now that you've called someone else "dumb," how bout showing us how smart you are by returning the ball @ http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showpost.php?p=4972236&postcount=1074

LG & abmk: as a side comment (no intention to interfere with your little fight) - I am also amazed by the number.

18,682 posts in 25 months.

~750 posts every month. 24 posts a day. Every day.

Holy cr*p.

Going for Baggy and Fish. Would be nice to see someone new get a shield since Rafa's out. Plus, I like both of them the most.

Marcos had a plan and stuck to it.

Pummel BH.

But Rodge is too smart to give him any rhythm, like Nadal did.

Rodge in 2.

Hello everyone,

I'm also a brand new user. I thought I register, follow the threads for a while and perhaps post something when I have something to say. But after reading Love Game’s comment I have decided to get my debut post out of the way.

Thanks for all the insights and comments. This seems like a great forum.

Peace,
MixieP

PS. I think Federer will progress to the final. He played very well yesterday against Davydenko who probably would have won that game if it had been anyone except Federer on the other side of the net.

you got that right Mixie, you sound very wise for someone new here :D

I welcome you to the board/.

who do you think will win the other sf? I think final is andy -Rodge and the latter will take care of his puppy.

A big "thank you" to everyone who's stayed on the topic of this thread! I'm guilty of getting sidetracked myself, so for that I apologize. Okay, back on topic!

Thank you, OddJack!

I didn’t watch the other two quarterfinals so I dare not predict, but all four remaining players should be hungry for success so I have high hopes for some great tennis in the next two days. :)

Baghdatis in 3. Feddy has had a much easier road to the semis than Bag. Bag has been through more tests and tougher opponents that will give him the momentum needed.

Feddy simply isn't motivated to win MM titles like Cincy. He'll tank it.

I think it will be a Federer vs Roddick final, and from there its anyone's game. I don't want to count out Fish but I just think Roddick has been playing extremely well, and my head says him in 2 sets.

As for Federer, I think he will be too much for Baghdatis. It looks like he's been switching up his game a bit more, as far as net play, to compensate for the(I don't wanna say deterioration) loss of his amazing baseline play. I think this variety will pull through for him.

Federer for the win! Hopefully, either Federer or Roddick take home the shield. Shame Roger did not get to play Rafa here, I think he was looking forward to it, with the surface benefiting him.

Roger for the win here, and then reclaim the US Open! 17 and 17 - sounds great :) :)

I'll go with the underdog ... Federer ! Hope he keeps it short and does not fall asleep in the second set. Needs some gas for the finale.
Hope for a Fed vs Fish final, roddicks too boring.

Weird, Nadal and Federer right now have the same H2H vs. Baggy at 6-1.

However, I predict Federer takes revenge and makes it 7-1. Rog in 3, one TB set.

Your post is not valid and hear by stricken from the record in no small part for use of the most abused and loathsome word in the history of the internet: "pathetic".

ugh.

If Fed wins Cincy, does it mean he's also the USO series leader?

You could be right about that. I don't know the rules, but these are the top five and their points as of Friday:

1 Andy Murray (GBR) 170
T-2 Roger Federer* (SUI) 115
Mardy Fish* (USA) 115
4 David Nalbandian (ARG) 110
5 Marcos Baghdatis* (CYP) 105

100 pts in the series for winning a Masters. Fed, Fish and Marcos already have 45 in those ^ standings for making the semis.

In the USO series tournaments so far Murray leads Federer 1-0, but trails Fish 0-1. H2H is the first deciding factor if points are a draw. So Fish can lead the series if he wins cincy, but Fed can't.

If Federer plays like he did against Davydenko, this could be an absolute trashing, if he plays like his usual self, I wouldn't be surprised to see this go to two very close sets, or even a third.
