That's also because most Nadal fans don't troll non Nadal matches . What a stupid thing to say. Isn't the reason self evident? I was actually pulling for Federer to hold onto the number 2 seed, as I think Djokovic is a terrible number 2 (heck he might be even a poor 3 or 4 right now), but this tournament has been the piiiiiits quality wise. Just straight up ball bashing at its worst with no real good matches.

Anyway, don't listen to that guys baiting. He's just being dumb. It's weird to me though how Federer fans can be like "Oh he's playing so awesome!" We hear this every single match he wins. Then he runs into someone playing well and he goes out. It's like clock work. I'd be worried if I were a fan. His timing is just way off.

We will see what happens at the US Open. :)

well actually there are quite a few nadal fans who do troll in non nadal matches, just rooting against fed. it has happened before. Why would I be worried as a fan though? If he wins he wins, if he loses he loses. It's not a big deal anymore. As long as he plays I'm just going to enjoy it and not have any expectations. He's already accomplished so much so as I fan I think it would be kind of silly to worry.

May I ask why you think this?

Because of you ignore Nadal's brilliance there for just a minute, there wasn't a single player there who did anything. Djoko and Murray were crap, DP was injured, Fed was not there, clown Verdasco actually reached the final and won one game in it. Crap, crap, crap.

Rafa was amazing there though.

Why do you like that whining baby Djokovic? There's plenty of other talented players that aren't asshats for you to cheer for.

I like him. Idk why, to be honest. He breaks a lot of racquets. So do I. That's about all I got so far. And we have a similar weird grunt on the serve.

You're talking to the guy who goes into every Fed match thread now just to trash Fed's game and say he stinks now. By 'a few Nadal fans who troll" he's obviously talking about himself.

darthfed! i missed you. Yeah no doubt about that. Fed is obviously the favorite, but I wouldn't say he has it in the bag.

oh yeah nice to see you too P_Agony:roll:

I replied to you :-)

Sorry if I sounded a bit cold. You're not coming here a lot anymore. Why is that? I demand your return immediately.

Likewise :D

As usual im sad because the new semester coincides with the start of the USO.

And im fully prepared for an upset tomorrow.

lol where are your priorities...tennis>>>>school work. And it's my senior year!!

I'm going to watch without any expectations. I mean if he loses, that's fine. If he win's great. He's getting older, the other players have more confidence, you know as time goes by, he's going to start losing more and more and well I can live with that.

XD its the start of the semester...the important part D:

And winning the title would be great for his confidence leading into the USO.

you demand me? Pshh, you are not the boss of me. I've just been busy. Working in my dad's company part time, obsessing over kpop, etc. But I'm back now. :)

Which is why we have to show ourselves. The *******s are taking over this place.

I dont really like arguing online too much.

But vortex and that anticharia guy are banned so thats a plus. Im really enjoying tennis (in general not just fed) atm.

Ah yes, that might be an exception :)

Nadal going out there actually increased the pressure on Federer in a funny kind of way.

yeah lol

i think his words were "people are gonna say if i dont win this now i never will"

It was the most emotional slam for me, and his most important imo.

Tennis was surprisingly decent in the last two weeks. Many players I like got nice results: Fed, Murray, Nalby, Roddick, Davy, even Richard won two matches (which is amazing for him).

Vortex banned? What did he do? Anticaria was spawning some silly threads I think, quick work by the mods.

but I'm the exception to that rule obviously. Didn't you get that memo?

Federer was probably thinking to himself "Oh gosh, Rafa is now out, I really didn't expect that at all. I've simply got to win it now", which must have been unbelievable pressure. If he had failed, it would have hurt a lot more than the losses to Nadal at the French Open from 2005-2008. And he very nearly lost several times.

They are just not dominant anymore. It is really a sign of how weak the field is that someone who has done nothing on HC whatsoever (60% of the season) is #1 by such a large margin. And #2 is okay, #3 is, I hate to admit it, weak. #5 is the 2nd best player in the world, but gets injured every other weak.

life's not fair sometimes. It's okay, when he meant everything, he went everything and everyone but me. he told me that himself.

Well, at least I'm the boss of Rafa, and he's the boss of Federer, who's the boss of Davydenko, who's the boss of Rafa. I'm confused.

yeah well I'm a girl and by all laws, the girl is always right. Just admit defeat now and acknowledge that you are not the boss of me, it's the other way around. it will make your life much easier.

I think this was the first convincing performance I witnessed from Roger since about the AO. Aggressive, quick on his feet, and very good serving. But most of all, pleased with him securing the #2 seeding spot for the USO. :)

Truth be told though - Baggy today wasn't a shadow of the player that beat Rafa yesterday. His main weapon, his outstanding serving, completely deserted him today... still a great run for Baggsy at this tournament and I wish him the best of luck at the USO.

This was just what I predicted, an easy straight set win by Fed, serving at 90% first serves never hurts. Come on Fish win tomorrow for the US. I don't think he will win if Fed serves anywhere like he did today.

I think Fish will have to play better than he did today to beat Federer. He was really outplayed by Roddick for almost a whole 2 sets today, and Federer looks in form.

This is the fastest outdoor hardcourt tournament of the year. It's transition for players because they are not used to it. The play usually improves when it gets to US Open.

I loved Federer coming into the net in those returns, asking the question. He got really sharp towards the end, the perfect practice leading into the final, and then the USO.

I love fast hard court tennis!!! It's just so high octane, with amazing shotmaking and some incredible points. We need more fast courts!!!!!!

I will say that I am impressed with Fish - to lose 30 lbs, to work hard on fitness, and to improve from 108 to 21 in an year should be an inspiration to all of us.

Absolutely.
Even more, up till that 2nd set TB, I felt pretty sure he'd deservedly coin his first ever master's title. However happy I am that Roger eventually got it, I would have felt about equally happy for Fish if it would have been his.
Hopefully more chances for him at the USO/post-USO HC indoor tournaments.

^ Yeah, Fish should be a guest star in "The Biggest Loser" show.

Anyone who manages to reach a master's tournament FINAL when entering it on a WC - IS. NOT. A. LOSER.

^ It's an American thing.

There is a show called "The Biggest Loser" that promotes a healthier lifestyle. It is about people working ridiculously hard trying to lose weight. Whoever loses the most pounds (the biggest loser) becomes the winner.
