Quick question: How thick should the bar that the racquet balances on. Like would using a pencil or your finger work?

The thinner the better, but a pencil will work fine. Just remember that for every 1/8th of an inch from the mid-point of your racquet, it is considered being "1 point" Head Light or Head Heavy. So be as precise as you can.

Another thing that works well that is fairly cheap is a three-sided drafting ruler. The TW customization page shows a thin wooden dowel and a yard stick I believe.

Just made one myself this week with a round metal rod, yardstick and some wood to set it up on.
Ill post pics next week when its all neatly finished not just functional as it is now.
