Finally, a great match from beginning to end. Congrats to Federer and his fans. Wawa ultimately showed us why some believe he was very lucky to have won the AO earlier this year.

Very happy for Federer to win, but honestly only one man deserved to win tonight and that was Wawrinka. He didn't take his chances at matchpoints. Don't understand why he decided to play serve and volley at matchpoints when he was so much stronger from the baseline.
Very exciting match though!

Yeah, wow, I'm just shocked. You expected Stan to hold strong, and Federer to fold or wobble at a few key moments.
Insane that Federer stayed in the match to steal it at the end and I'm really happy he fought so hard and found just enough good stuff to win, but wow poor Stan. Stan really had the match on his racket, he was dominating and it just wasn't Federer's day. A minor miracle that Federer won here.

Agreed, he didn't deserve to win it, but it was on his racket and he blew it. Lot of luck for Federer to win this, but also a lot of fight.

Yeah seemed really strange for him at that particular point. Almost like he felt like he had to prove a point that he also -like Federer- could play S&V. I don't think he was insecure or something.. really odd.. :-?

The way stan played .. I highly doubt it there were plenty of chances he could of gave up tb .. But kept coming back
Federer plays his best when loose, and he does seem to save a lot of set and matchpoints. Maybe at that point he just figures it's the other guy's set or match, and is more loose because of it. If this happens enough times, it gets to the other guy.
