This should have been a 7-3 tie breaker, but for Lahyani.

Fed asked him specifically when he called the serve out. The ball was well in.

what happened at 6-6??? Canadian channel stopped the match at 6pm eastern sharp >:(

I know man, WTF??? And no I'm not referring to the World Tour Finals....

Seriously, I would like to give 2 middle fingers to Sportsnet for runing the outcome of a great drama filled match.

I know, the same happened to me. They cut it short at 3:00pm pacific as well. What a bunch of tools. I am still angry.

They are showing some terrible hockey game form 1978, now.

You're kidding, right?
They turned off the business end of a WTF tiebreaker for a 1978 hockey re-run?

If that was on pay TV or something, I would literally cancel my plan.

Fed playing bad was gunna come sooner or later .. I'm glad it wasn't against Novak, expect a much better performance tomorrow

QFT.
Rogi will turn it up 4 notches for tomorrow.
He will get a set at the very least.

Cool it with all this Stan-choking bs. He brought his A level today and it was down to an inch here and there. I'm a Fed fan, but would have no problem with Stan winning this match.

Great tennis = tennis wins.

I don't believe Stan choked. It was a really close match.

Stan mixed it up very well. He came to net more times than Fed.

Unfortunate there can be only 1 winner.

May be detrimental for DC chances for Swiss.

Almagro still the Choking GOAT, but my god Stan. I thought after AO and especially MC over Fed, he would be ready for this moment when playing well.

In any case congrats Fed for surviving. Djok vs Fed should be the way to end the year. Nole has beaten Fed here last two years, lets get the three pete going!

Wawrinka choked plain and simple.I am disgusted by fed.He will get destroyed by joker if he brings that crappy play.

Why disgusted by Fed? What did he do other than fighting to stay in it and giving himself a chance against a red-hot Wawrinka until Wawrinka cooled down a bit?

This was the that could happen for tommorow for fed. His confidence is huge now.

What a champ. Look out nole

Sad to see so many 'choke' comments here (well of course not meaning the usual suspects who call ANY loss a choke  ), but Stan really did a good job this evening.
Yes, I think he should have won this match, but that DOES NOT mean he choked. There was someone else on the opposite side of the net as well, someone you may not rule out when it comes to winning matches...

All kudos to Stan. He did a great job, but just fell short in that TB. Congrats to Fed - once again he showed you cannot fool around with such a champ like him. Hoping for Fed to show his best tomorrow in the final, but.... not counting on that if I'm honest to say. ;)

Those three serve & volley match points really hurt. I can understand one or two but three?

Well, I guess Stan is more human like the rest of us.

Matches like these are some kind of solace for all the heart burns like USO 2009, AO 2005 and the countless Masters lost with MP (Baghdatis, Gulbis, Berdych)

Same thing happened to me all the way in Nigeria. One minute I'm watching the tie break, then I see the coloured bars, then commercials, by the time the match comes back, Federer is signing the camera. Happened exactly 12 midnight.

If on the match points Fed hit some amazing winners or Wawrinka went for his shots and missed then that would be true. But Wawrinka decided to serve and volley, something he doesn't do very often and he did it not once, not twice, but three times! Even on 2nd serve! And he messed up each time. I gotta go with choke on that one.

Choke isn't when you lose a close match or even make errors. Its when you try something completely different from what brought you to the dance on Match Point, something you aren't most comfortable with and it doesn't work out and then you do it again and again.

I get your point, if it were up to me, I'd like to have seen Stan win this in straights.

Epic win for Fed...but could this be a fixed match....I mean...Stan was serve and volleying on match pts....even as a Fed fan...I have to wonder...
Fixed match??? What are you on (no offense)? Surely, they would make it shorter then.
I want this Wawrinka to show up next week
This level will surely be enough to beat anything the French can throw at him
Stan epitomized the word "pigeon" tonight. Great match though
He did no such thing.

The lineswoman down the middle (camera end) has a FANTASTIC rear end
I'm not the only one who noticed!
she's there every year (I've had seats right behind her), great looking indeed!

To be fair though, Fed did hit 2 passing winners on those points, and each of them he sliced the ball low to make the volley as tough as it could have been for Stan.

Finally someone with logic

Wasn't a choke at all. Wawa was cramping a bit at 6-5 and had very good success at the net throughout the match. You obviously don't serve and volley very often

I watch most of my tennis matches live on sportsbet .. Seriously guys just make an account and you can watch matches for free
On a full screen? On bet365 you can only get it to be like one tenth of your screen or something like that

I don't think he choked, sure - he should have made the 2nd one, but stuff like that happens to the best of them. Djoko lost two FO's in a row to Rafa by a DF.
Maybe Stan felt he was nervous from the baseline and decided it was best to end it quickly. At the net, you react - you don't have time to over think as you do on the baseline.

Fed won the next two points with touch volleys

+1.

I'm a big Federer fan but it does seem like crowds want to see him win so much that they do things that just aren't fair to his opponents. Not cool.

The atmosphere is a little hyped up, with cameras in your face, freebies for the spectators, music. Attracts a slightly different crowd to a wet day of WO qualies at Roehampton,

what happened towards the end of the match with Stan gesturing towards the crowd and arguing with ump?

Probably because of idiots cheering for his errors. Just proves that London is filled with Fed fans, not tennis fans.
