Barricade 2026

As long as it’s stable and durable that’s all I need. I’d take the 2018/2017 if they reissued them.
What about 1st 2nd, and 3rd generations? Those were around the time I stopped playing tennis and have no idea what those felt like.

I hate how rarely (if ever?) adidas does retros for tennis.

Very annoying

Do you mean the first barricade? Or the 2015/2016. I haven’t played with any of them my fist was the 2017.

The eyelet protection on the medial part of the shoe is gone for this release. On the last few models, the men's shoe had it while the women didn't. That's a shame to see.

The 3rd generation was my first barricade, very sturdy, stable and durable, a true Barricade!

Looks like midsole is light strike pro. Tonge and lacing system are different than the previous model, very basic setup. Mid foot shank looks a bit smaller

In the stock photos, the new model looks sleeker, more streamlined. In the photos on feet with Stefanos they look really big and bulky.

it's cuz stef has no legs...

Ah, just when I stocked up on 16 pairs of Lacoste and Pinnacles...
It will be a tough choice between these and Revolt Pro 5.0 that would definitely be a better fit for a little wider feet, according to Michelle (and her assessment of the B 14)

how much do these weigh? 13s were 14.8oz, iirc.

According to Google’s AI: The Adidas Barricade 14 tennis shoe weighs approximately 14.5 ounces for a men's size 10.5, though this can vary slightly depending on the specific model and size. This weight is typical for a stable, durable tennis shoe and is considered a good balance between support and agility on the court.
Men's weight: Around 14.5 oz (410g) for a men's size 10.5.

But hadn't there been lighter 'Cades in the past?

Michelle said these are the lightest ones ever?

Barricades are definitely well-made (over built) and this version is easy on the eyes. Nice to see its dropped some weight ( we probably could all drop a few after Thanksgiving!) which is sure to make it a wee-bit nimbler out of the corners!! It's hard to pry me away from my Ubersonics though...

Traditionally Barricades destroy anything other than a really narrow foot IMO. I have regular width feet and most of their models have pinched/smashed/gouged (choose the model) the sides of my feet in some way. The 13 had a good width but massive heel slippage for me. Really hope the 14 is an improvement but that plastic sidewall right at the pinkie toe area is a bad sign for me.

100% right, but arguably the word "Barricades" shall be replaced by "all or most Adidas models"

Intrigued by this. The Lightstrike Pro and the ventilation opening. I wonder how light and nimble this is... I prefer lighter/speed shoes over maximalist ones. I'm not big/heavy myself.

Yeah their “claw” sidewall I think is the main culprit. I’ve had barricades since the very first model in 2000. Always fit super tight.
Wow, interesting.
I'd always heard they were a wider shoe and always stayed away.
May have to try these especially if they're lighter

I kinda like the look of this. It really reminds me of the Barricade 8 from 2014. The thing that kept me away from the last couple models is the outsole durability. Hopefully, there’s some good improvement closer to the old durability of Barricades prior to 2015.

This is a very clean design from Adidas, especially for a barricade. I like the move away from the asymmetric lacing system. Aside from the heel (may look a bit clunky as previous versions), it sits low to the ground almost like a dedicated speed shoe.

I'm liking this color combo. Hopefully they make it for the hard court version too. But I'm looking forward to more versions using colors other than black and white

They have it for hardcourt as well. It is listed on one of TW's competitor's sites in both clay and hard.

For some reason TW is usually last in getting all of the colorways up and sometimes doesn't get them at all.
