An interesting 3rd round match at Paris could be between Wawrinka and Nadal. They played on clay several months back and played a fairly close 2 set match. Both won 6-3, 6-1 their respective 2nd round matches today. I think Nadal in 2 close sets but we will see.

It´s Paris, not Basel ;)
Wawrinka is a really good player on indoors. I think it will be tough for Nadal but I say Nadal in 3 because he is mentally tougher.

Drats, stupid me. :p You are right, I dont know what I was thinking with Basel, I guess I need my morning coffee.

Nadal is definitely mentally tougher then Wawrinka. Wawrinka will probably have to play so well to avoid many "big points" which is very hard to do.

Stanislas is played well his last tournie and I think he has something to prove being in the shadow of Federer constantly. I think he brings his A-Game every time against Nadal since Nadal has the better record against Federer, it's a big matchup for him.

It is true he might have a chip on his shoulder, when he played Nalbandian last week after Nalbandian had beaten Federer the week before he played really well. He said afterwords it was revenge for Federer, but he might also look at playing guys who have done well or gotten wins over Federer as an opportunity to make a statement. It must be frusterating to be in Federer's huge shadow in Switzerland.

Unfortunately,Wawrinka in 2.

He has a huge backhand and a great FH,not to mention his serve which is IMO one of the best today.
But this is not all,i saw Nadal's first match,he is hitting junk on the service line, short high ball with no pace = wawrinka is gonna have a blast.

I really hope im wrong here(although if nadal does win he has youzhni...)

yeah, nadal's hitting too short at the moment and not serving all that great, which spells trouble on hard court for him (despite his dream draw in this tourn. and the high bouncing courts). However, if haas gets past youzhny, nadal should scrap his way to the finals, if he keeps it deeper, serves better, and comes in more. if not, even haas could take him with the way he's playing. I foresee Fed having trouble beating nalby, and whoever's next, esp. if that person is either murray or gasquet. this all before a possible final w/ nadal. hmmm, fed may not win this tourn.

Nadal in 2 sets. These slow courts give Nadal plenty of opportunities to break and play his game. I expect him to play better this next match.

GO............NADAL................GO......
i am waiting for nadal against federer final in paris and latter in shanghai.....
RAFA NADAL

For the love of god don't bet your house or life savings on either of those.

I don't know how slow these courts are but I feel Nadal will step it up and win comfortably (as long as he doesn't have any niggling injuries to contend with). So Nadal in 2.

Nadal gets 3 b.p. then Wawrinka double faults on the first one to let Nadal right back in the match.

b.p again for Wawrinka, interestingly he wins more points off Nadal's first serve than his second.

I think so far he's had b.p's on all but one of Nadal's service games, but Nadal keeps saving them.

Its not how many point you lose on the serve but its how many break point you convert> thus far wawrinkaa sucks. watch outfor nadal to go for a break this game.

Yep, Stan's obviously decided that he can't be bothered anymore, he's about to lose his 8th straight point on serve, after having served so beautifully for his first few service games.

Stan is giving a fine demonstration in the art of choking. Having been up a break and only lost one point on serve, he then loses 8 consecutive points on serve.

That's first set to Nadal when he was losing big time. Let's congratulate Stan on his enormous choke.
