Well yeah, it is totally subjective.
Who won the most is objective and factual, but who is considered the greatest to ever do something is totally subjective. Otherwise people would be saying that Margaret Court is the greatest women's tennis player ever. But people say it's either Serena, Martina or Steffi.
Or in basketball people would be saying that Bill Russell is the greatest basketball player ever. Not LeBron or Jordan. And of course it's Jordan.
In baseball who is the greatest baseball player ever? A lot of people say it's Willie Mays. Is it?
In football is it Jim Brown or Tom Brady or someone else? Is it Patrick Mahomes now?
(And I wish that Kelce would retire so he could Taylor Swift with him, she makes me not like the Chiefs. I'm with Jay-Z, Beyoncé got 32 Grammys and not once was album of the year. And somehow Taylor Swift now has 4?! More than Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder. What the f*ck is this? Anyway, I digress... )
In boxing Rocky Marciano was 49-0. Floyd Mayweather was 50-0. But the person who actually has
G.O.A.T. Incorporated is the true greatest of all times, Muhammad Ali.
I even have a book that says he's the GOAT...
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee with the Muhammad Ali tribute GOAT, an epic edition incl. expert essays, interviews, and thousands of images.

But yeah, it's totally "I like this person better so they're the GOAT."
The numbers only matter to the people who it matters to, and to no one else.
And of course Rolex made a great ad...
They do have a point.
Of course, the greatest tennis player ever is Pete Sampras. Or Rod Laver if you want to say that. Then Federer. And I think I would put Nadal next and Borg after him. And then Djokovic at number 6.
