@navigator I would suggest you play with @Slowtwitcher first at Balboa Park and then at your clay court south of the border and experience some real topspin without having to travel around the world for it.
Suresh, how can you say it was real topspin if I play with synthetic gut?! It's IMPOSSIBLE to create spin with synthetic gut@navigator I would suggest you play with @Slowtwitcher first at Balboa Park and then at your clay court south of the border and experience some real topspin without having to travel around the world for it.
You must be Jim Courier.Suresh, how can you say it was real topspin if I play with synthetic gut?! It's IMPOSSIBLE to create spin with synthetic gut![]()
Not even closeYou must be Jim Courier.
I used Solinco with the triangular cross section which bites the ball. I have been using that since I got couple of free samples from a rep. I still could not handle your spin forget about putting more spin on it.Suresh, how can you say it was real topspin if I play with synthetic gut?! Isn't Balboa the kingdom of LeeD?@navigator I would suggest you play with @Slowtwitcher first at Balboa Park and then at your clay court south of the border and experience some real topspin without having to travel around the world for it.
No he is in the SF Bay AreaIsn't Balboa the kingdom of LeeD?
Good. I think I hit "ignore" on him the first week of posting here.No he is in the SF Bay Area
Gulbis??Also, my new neighbor is a 5 time national champion of Latvia.
Tennis technology has not caught up with you.I have realized that string cross section is not really my limiting factor.
What is your limiting factor?I used Solinco with the triangular cross section which bites the ball. I have been using that since I got couple of free samples from a rep. I still could not handle your spin forget about putting more spin on it.
But couple of weeks ago I purchased the cheapest Genesis poly from TW and that will be my next string due to the tanking economy. I have realized that string cross section is not really my limiting factor.
@Suresh needs hybrid strings obvsWhat is your limiting factor?
1) Where is the video footage that we have all been seeking?AMA: I played with the great Suresh yesterday.
Suresh usually backs off on his serve as a courtesy for visitors, so it’s unlikely that Slowtwitcher witnessed the full arsenal.1) Where is the video footage that we have all been seeking?
2) Is his drop volley really that legendary?
3) How badly did you lose?
1) Just ordered a tripod on Amazon, will have video next time1) Where is the video footage that we have all been seeking?

thank you!!!!!!!1) Just ordered a tripod on Amazon, will have video next time
Should I ask Christopher Nolan to come with his crew for filming this? Or do you prefer Peter Jackson.1) Just ordered a tripod on Amazon, will have video next time
2) Suresh was just banging from the baseline
3) I lost many points, but mainly because of my strings (of course)
Food would be the obvious one. What is your limiting factor?

I recall reading an article a few years ago pointing out a curious trend. If you plot the Rotten Tomato review score of M. Night Shyamalan’s movies versus time, you get a perfectly linear negative slope.Pleeze, sir, ownleigh cunsidder four dis hear tasque a ma.s.ster uv horror anne sumwon family whirr whiff the South Indian cull tour dat maid Sabooshs inntwo hour Darque Knight...the rite won four this iz M. Edit: Looks like he made a mini comeback in last few years after bottoming out.
Playing with old farts has limited my gameWhat is your limiting factor?
And that's saying something.Playing with old farts has limited my game
You're too kind, Suresh. The last time I played doubles was in the early 90's and (because of poly) I just couldn't volley or hit an overhead to save my life!On Saturday, we played doubles. I fared much better against him this time because the remaining 3 of us managed to drag him down to our level and restrict his topspin groundies. I am afraid that if this continues, he will start hitting short flat stokes and lobs and lose that European topspin component of Nadal.
Being an old fart is limiting my game.Playing with old farts has limited my game
Overheads were difficult as we played from 12 to 2 with the sun right above us.You're too kind, Suresh. The last time I played doubles was in the early 90's and (because of poly) I just couldn't volley or hit an overhead to save my life!
I think this is one of those tips that can be counterproductive. At least for me, my mind tries to consciously keep track of where the head of the racquet is. If I were to try to also keep track of which direction the butt of my racquet is pointed, it would confuse my brain because the head is pointed the opposite direction from the butt.I was advised to point my butt towards the ball every time. Is that a good thing to do?
I think of it when starting to move my hand forward. It helps me quite a lot.I think this is one of those tips that can be counterproductive. Why not track where the sweetspot is?At least for me, my mind tries to consciously keep track of where the head of the racquet is.
This tip helped my serve. Trying to point my butt towards the ball after the toss helped me to get more shoulder/torso turn.I was advised to point my butt towards the ball every time. Is that a good thing to do?
If I could do that, I would be a much better player. Why not track where the sweetspot is?
We all strive to be as good as the sureshs, it is not easyIf I could do that, I would be a much better player.
No I mean instead of tip awareness, why not focus on awareness a little closer to the body where the sweetspot is? I have heard a lot about "racket tip awareness" but you don't hit with tip (at least consciously), so why?If I could do that, I would be a much better player.
Over the weekend I had good results on focusing on what some poster here said about tossing arm and serving arm being in the same plane (shoulder over shoulder) but forgot all about it when I played with slowtwitcher yesterday. This tip helped my serve. Trying to point my butt towards the ball after the toss helped me to get more shoulder/torso turn.
If I accidentally toss too high, I even have time to do a quick twerk to distract my opponent.
Wait... did you mean the racquet handle butt?
Who said anything about ‘tip awareness’?No I mean instead of tip awareness, why not focus on awareness a little closer to the body where the sweetspot is? I have heard a lot about "racket tip awareness" but you don't hit with tip (at least consciously), so why?
Yesterday I was playing with slowtwitcher and found that his tip (pun intended) of pointing butt towards ball wasn't working and then I remembered your post but found better results focusing on sweetspot awareness.
You said head of the racquet .Who said anything about ‘tip awareness’?
TWSSI assumed it was the tip since the head is a pretty large area.
Cue cards.Over the weekend I had good results on focusing on what some poster here said about tossing arm and serving arm being in the same plane (shoulder over shoulder) but forgot all about it when I played with slowtwitcher yesterday.
Each time I get some insights which give me good results but I forget them by the next time I play.
