Med making hay.
Some incredible gets to confuse and frustrate. Will extend rallys beyond most comfort zones..

Opponents are saying, how do we play this guy..

Tough when Med is playing so well.

Medvedev is flavour of the month. He hasn't showed good form over several seasons yet like Zverev. By next season Zverev will be back to winning tournaments and Medvedev will be back as top 50 player like before. Problem with TTW is thst it is too microscopic on what is happening RIGHT NOW. Don't forget to look over a longer time frame for a clearer picture of consistent form.

Its the same people saying Roger is doomed bevause he has a run of "not great" results. Forgetting he is 20 time slam champion and higher in GOAT records than anyone else.

This is some of the best Tennis Zverev has ever played in his favourite Bo3 format - yet he lost 4,1. He might have got early results but Medvedev and Tsitsipas have improved. Now clearly better players. By next year the gap between Zverev and these Two will be much bigger for sure.

Medvedev is just machining his way to titles and scything his way through the tour. He knows what's needed to win and he's executing perfectly right now.

"Flair" and flashy inconsistency are no longer the flavours.

I used to be a Zverev fan. But now that he has beat up my idol (Fed) and Med has come along I'm not taking to him
with the same amount of passion. :)
Med does more for me now than Zverev used to.

Absolutely laughable. Zverev constantly struggles and does virtually nothing in slams. He's done nothing remotely close to what Medvedev is doing and has never had a stretch this dominating. Even when Zverev manages to win or play 'well' it's often not very inspiring. Medvedev is obviously the much better player today.

Calm down man.

Shapovalov can make a 250 final any time now

To the bandwagoners' dismay, Zverev will still end up with the better career when all is said and done.
Always easy to overestimate the most recent trends.

I don't think Medvedev has such a huge gap, but rather a small one that leads to massively different results. Zverev lost to himself today.

Med playing Moscow next week and then Vienna; could easily become 8 finals in a row.o_O
Fkn hell is he really playing that much? At least withdraw from Vienna, since he probably won't withdraw from Moscow due to sentimental value.
TTW will soon have threads about Med juicing since literally plays (and wins) every week

Don't think it requires a thread.

Don't believe for a second he's clean.

With his win today Medvedev adds a 7th ATP title, 4th this season (joining Djokovic, Nadal and Thiem), 2nd at Masters 1000 level and 1st in Shanghai.

He becomes 1 of only 3 active players to win multiple Masters titles outside of the Big 4 (along with Zverev and Tsonga) and is 1 of only 2 active players other than the Big 4 to win back to back Masters titles in the same season (along with Zverev in 2017). He becomes the 4th active player to win the Shanghai title and the 2nd Russian after Davydenko (won the inaugural edition in 2009).

Zverev has done poorly ever since he switched to the Gravity racket. I hit with one, and it was very unstable. Hopefully he will switch back soon. He should switch to the Blade V7, much better frame.

Finally watching the final. Just witnessed the double double fault to close out the first set. What an awful way to close out a close first set.

pretty muted reaction to winning a M1000!
Of course. These guys are not good for tennis. Med, Djokovich, Rublev, et. al. Good players, yes, but they have all the personality of a fencepost. Doesn't matter how good he is, most people won't cancel the Sunday picnic to sit home and watch Medvedev.

Since when have personalities mattered in tennis?
I'm thinking of players such as McEnroe, Connors, Borg, Sampras etc...
