Battle of the "Golder Ages"....

Fellow Boarders-

I am one of those suckers who dream of seeing certain matches that.....they can never see. I would LOVE to see a 3 on 3 match featuring our current "gold age" stars---Federer, Nadal, Djokovic---play the three stars of the most recent other "golden age"---McEnroe, Borg, and Connors. I'd pay half my retirement account to see it! Sadly, the money is safe. ( Sorry Murray---though Murray-Lendl WOULD be fun!)

I would do it as only 3 matches too. 1984 McEnroe against Roger. 1980 Borg against Rafa, and hmm...Connors against Djokovic. Not sure what vintage of Connors I'd use. '74, '82? I just picked years for the vintage golder age guys because I know they are up against it. The most interesting match to me would be Djoker-Connors. Who has the best chance to stay close? Probably McEnroe in my mind. Just his extinct style of play and unique virtuosity might---might--surprise.

What do you think? What outcome? What scores?

Well, I think it's safe to say that Connors would probably just edge it against Nole....maybe in 5 sets......

CONNORS IN 5!!!!!!!
