BB London Tour 93in2 Club

I've had the stick for more than two weeks, and now I can go public. They will break it out at the Open.

Think Prestige Classic with the Volkl feel and the heft at 3/9 as opposed to 2/10, or Wilson 6.1 with more feel, more spin, and longer dwell time. It has the London colors, with Melbourne graphics, 18x20 string bed, and fully capped grommets, built from the T10 Tour mold, with a responsive lay-up and DC at 3/9. Plays well with or without the vibration dampener, but I prefer something in-between, so I put 1.75 grams on the bridge, and two power pads between 5th-6th main. Like the Melbourne, the London Tour is the closest in the line to a traditional graphite frame, with the DC replacing the need for lead tape, so it is easier to accelerate for more spin.

LET IT RIP!

I just got the racquet yesterday along with the Volkl Organix 8 315g and amazed with the paint job. It specs out something between PC600 and PB10. Will test it out this weekend.

WOW!

That is a gorgeous paint job! Please post back with how it hits! It looks really close to a Prestige which has one of my favorite PJ's of all time!

Best of all, the racquet comes with less technology - a classic thin beam (not so boxy as I want), CAP grommet, non-shock vibration handle.

Comparing side-by-side, the London Tour is a bit larger than PC600 and wider than PB10. The position that shafts split is closer to the handle like PC600.

That looks great! Looks a lot like the Prestige Pro 600. Now if it plays like it I would be tempted to switch.

When are we going to hit? We could do a comparative test of the London Tour and Prestige Classic.:)

The London Tour's heft is at 3/9, whereas the PB 10 Mid's is at 4/8. That's a big difference, and makes for another divergence in the two lines.

Starting next week, I'm doing some pro bono teaching to underprivileged kids, Tu/Fri from 10:30-11:30 am on the LES off the F-Train. If you want to come down, my body can handle an hour after the kids leave. If the head pro is functionally recovered from surgery, we can all hit. Send me an email.

My lord is that a good looking stick. Becker/Volkl has been on a role lately. Hopefully it hits as pretty as it looks.

Thanks for the pics. very nice looking racquets.
TM: Does the racquet looks as oval as what it looks like in the pic?
Please let us know how much different it is compared to the London.
thanks and welcome back!

It really doesn't. The London is really in the Volkl 9 family, after combining the best of the BB 11s. The London Tour, is more like a 93in2 Melbourne, and a true Volkl 10 stick.

A very nice looking blend of classic and modern. Shares a name and color scheme with the MP but it's all Tour 10 from there, isn't it? For example the deltacore signature profile offset at the throat/top of the handle is smooth on the mid, only simulated by the paint job.

How much does it weigh?

London Tour Specs(printed inside throat):

Weight: 320 grams/11.3 oz
Balance: 31.5cm/1.1 in HL/8.8 pts HL
Beam Width: 19.5mm
String Pattern: 18x20

Wow! That is one beautiful frame. Volkl/Becker has really come out with some great frames lately.

Too bad it will probably be in the 62-65RA range (speculation).
56-58 and I'm sold.

Without knowing, other than hitting with it a couple of times, I would say that it is in the 60-61 range. Be mindful that the DC nano carbon makes a general flex/stiffness rating tricky.

Like most frames estimation of the stiffness can be tricky and imprecise considering what their strung with. Also, what we all know, the frame flexes differently at different locations and trying to squeeze it into one number is plain silly.

Of course the most important thing is how it feels and not how it "reads".

Nevertheless a slightly bigger and lighter alternative to a Prestige Classic would be really nice.

If it hits like a Prestige Classic it will be irresistible.

Please stop posting pics cause it's an absolute torture test.
Will TW get there hands on these?
,I need to know the stiffness as well before the card comes out. This stick is a possible holygrail.
And yes Babo,VOLKL nailed the cosmetics.

I just came back playing Suppawat's demo which was strung with Volkl multi @52. I forgot the name of the string but it's black with silver spirals.

It's a nice stick. Very playable and comfy. Very well-balanced. I like it.

I just played extensively everywhere on the court with it and it is rock solid, allowing you to swing fast, and to deflect any passing shots while at net. It's far from stiff, and everyone here knows about my shoulder. Put a leather grip on it with a little lead tape on the head, and it's easily comparable to the Prestige Classic IMO, which is what I am going to do before the end of the day.

thx for sharing. no room for any new racquets and this prob isn't one for me at my current level...but still enjoy the thread.

Compare to a stock redondo mid.

If any 1 can compare it to the Redon I know you can.As comfy would you say/As the Redondo.??

Third page is passing by, still no stiffness numbers...
Only 60-61 speculation so far, so does it flex anywhere near PB 10 Mid or not?
