Cuevas is making a lot of errors now. Is it because they watered the court ?
Go Ventura!
I'm his number one fan.![]()

Juan Monaco and Albert Montanes will square off in the Bucharest final on Sunday afternoon. Monaco is looking for his fourth career ATP title while Montanes seeks his third winner's trophy and second of 2009.
It will be the second career meeting between Juan Monaco and Albert Montanes when the two clay-court standouts do battle in the final of the BCR Open Romania on Sunday afternoon. Their only previous encounter came three years ago in Vina Del Mar, where Montanes prevailed 6-4, 6-2. Now 28, Montanes was already in the prime of his career at that point, whereas Monaco was just breaking onto the tennis scene at 21 years old.
Monaco, of course, is an established force on the ATP Tour at this point in time. He reached a career-high ranking of No. 14 in the world last February before an ankle injury derailed his progress. Bucharest's No. 3 seed appears to be on the way back to the upper echelon of the men's game and he owns an impressive 31-19 match record for the year. So far this week he has dismissed Julio Silva, Pere Riba, eighth-seeded Pablo Cuevas, and an in-form Simon Greul. . Monaco is already the clay-court wins leader in 2009 with 30 to Tommy Robredo's 28.
Montanes is also playing stellar tennis following a dismal start to the season. Not surprisingly, he began to heat up with the arrival of the European clay-court season, reaching the Casablanca semifinals. The 53rd-ranked Spaniard went on to win a title in Estoril, saving match points against James Blake before winning the third set 6-0. Montanes has been dominant on his way to the BCR Open final, taking out Potito Starace, Marcel Granollers, and Fabio Fognini all in easy straight sets before dismissing qualifier Santiago Ventura in three. With four victories under his belt in Bucharest, the No. 5 seed now owns a solid 20-17 match record on the year.
Monaco has contested eight ATP finals--all on clay--in his career, winning three. Montanes has been a part of six career finals--also all on clay--and his first came at this same Bucharest tournament eight years ago. He owns two career ATP titles, having prevailed most recently earlier this season in Estoril.
Neither man is unaccustomed to the pressure of an ATP title and both are in fine form, so this should be a title match of the highest quality. Count on an entertaining and competitive clash, with Monaco pulling it out at the end of a tight three-setter.

Montanes wins the 1st set.
Mocano made some errors, but overall he was outplayed.
Monaco got broken back serving for second set.
1 horrible DF, 2 dumb UEs and a super passing shot my Montanes.
wow!
not one, single person voted for Montanes in the poll! ....... and I never would have called Pico getting broken back while serving for the second set! :-o
The whole thing was too early for me today, so I fell back asleep a few games into the second set. The only thing I noticed was that pico was expressing more emotion, while albert was maintaining his focus better. I'm sorry for what must be a bitter loss for Juan, but happy for what must be a sweet victory for Albert...

Felicitaciones Albert Montanes!!!
