Becker and Edberg (though I rarely watched them when they were winning slams), then Sampras, then Roddick for a while. I never liked Hewitt for his loud mouthed celebration after beating Sampras and Federer for his racquet smashing at first. Once I saw his attacking and graceful game, Federer grew up on me. I'm also a fan of Nadal's physical and gladiatorial game. To me, the golden years of tennis were early 90s and 04-08. Even Djokovic's game was fairly aggressive back then. Don't like grinding tennis that became the norm after 2010
i didn't know much about him until that first uso semi and final. absolutely blew me away, never saw anything like it. remained a fan but was a big goran fan too...pete screwed him over a few times at wimby unfortunately...
Goran was amazing, When he won Wimbledon was the only tennis match when I ever had tears in my eyes. Never felt so emotional ever. What a match and what a win.
