Beijing is going to be Off The Chain! One of the most stacked 500 draws ever.

Everyone apart from Djokovic, Tiafoe and Fritz are in town for this one, it looks like a freaking masters 1000 event!

Some of the first round matches are crazy,

@Rattie kindly putting together the early round matches, take a look at this for round one! LOL

Khachanov v. Musetti
Struff v. Ruud
Rune v. Auger-Aliassime
Jarry v. Tsitsipas
Rublev v. Norrie
De Minaur v. Murray
Paul v. Medvedev

Zverev just won a title, and so did Khachanov.

No one really has it easy here. Rune or FAA could be taking on Sinner in the quarters, to then take on Alcaraz. Rublev, Tsitsipas, Zverev and Medvedev all in the same side. Beijing has crazy potential for a 500, I don't recall a 500 like this in a very long time.

Literally no-one has an easy draw. When was the last time we said that?!

Because it is a 32 man draw, everyone has been packed in together. There is literally no breathing room space for any of them. This should be a masters 1000 with at least 64 players.

Odd that tennis fans would post on a tennis forum and complain about how ****ty tennis is but that's just me.

And yes I know that this isn't the Big 3 generation anymore and this was a down year for tennis no doubt but I still enjoy watching top tennis players play tennis because I'm a....tennis fan but to each their own.
Why was it a down year ?

Alcaraz isn't at an age where just grand slams matter lol

He wants to tennis
But he also just withdrew from Davis Cup because he said he needed to listen to his body after how hard this season has been on him, and his fall schedule was kind of up in the air after that. Only to then sign up for a bunch of 500s in addition to the 1000s/YEC.

You're really hyped for a worthless tournament that means nothing. :-D

Medvedev on the draw

“At the same time, as I said, so many good players. It's tough. It's like an ATP Masters 1000 here or a Grand Slam. In a way it's even stronger than a Grand Slam, where you don't have first rounds, where you maybe can get into the tournament, which sometimes can be the case in a Grand Slam… I think we're going to see a lot of different results where the seeded players can lose and stuff like this because first rounds are never easy.”

FAA often finds a way to disappoint, otherwise Rune-FAA would be a terrific match. Both Sinner and Alcaraz in the draw - hope they face each other!

He still has that strapping on. His team isn't the perfect management that there is.

Looks like a tougher draw than some slams in the recent years lol.

Maybe we should add a 5th slam in Asia?

True, but neither player has had it easy lately. It could be interesting just to see who grabs the win after a few disappointing losses.

Who is better suited to give Alcaraz trouble in the second round, Khachanov or Musetti?

Khachanov, he has the weight of shot. Musetti got dismantled badly in RG, think he needs to add more power in his game to boss Carlos.
