Belgium made Pro Staff 85's ???

Hi Guys (and Gals),

I have some reliable information that Wilson has had Pro Staff 85's made in Couvin, Belgium by Donnay. Apparently these are the bumperless mystery "St Vincent" frames with a "B" as last letter of the buttcap code.
I have two bumperless PS 85's with HNB and JTB written below the red "W" on a white buttcap. It has "Pro Staff" written on both sides of the shaft and the primer is black!!! On the side it only says "Midsize" and there is nothing printed on the inside of the shafts, only a black gripsize sticker saying 4 3/8 (L3) and string at 55 - 65 lbs. The 3/8 is printed with the 3 on top and an 8 below a - .
Wilson had many wooden frames made by Donnay in the 1960's and 70's. These are marked with a stamp on the inside of the head saying "Belgium" or " Made in Belgium".
I believe that the story is true, can anyone confirm??

Regards, Hans

Compared to SV or other make, are they special?

I'm convinced that PS 85's were made in Belgium but how do they compare to SV or other PS frames?

Has anyone ever compared them?

Belgium Pro Staff comparison

Hi guys,

I have a Belgium pro staff 85 (bought over **** uk, grip 4 5/8, HSB), it feels less hefty and not as 'dense' than the st vincent or chicago models. I am able to swing the racket faster, so am able to whip the balls more quickly.

The racket is also more playable over long matches and is less strenous on the arm and elbow. However, because it seems 'lighter', it loses the bite and power of the heavier st vincent models.

Hope this helps!

Bumping this thread to find out if there are any other opinions about how the Belgium 85 compares to the St. Vincent 85 and others.

I had one. And I sold it on the bay. It was in New condition, but strung. There was no barcode on it either. And it said, "Not for resale if barcode is missing." I juggled a ball on it a few times and even with syngut, there was no feel at all. It felt like a prince stick (no offense prince).
