Ben spent the first half of the year playing with an Ezone and PolyTour Rev. In this photo he has a darker racquet with a green string.
Could be Vcore Pro with poly tour pro green?
well i like it...At the very least he changed the string. Guessing it's PolyTour Pro Yellow.
Makes sense because Ben's previous string (polytour rev) is not great and I don't see anyone else on tour using it.
A player his style - he had much success with the vcP HD 18x20. Going from an 18x20 to 16x19 is a huge change. He played his first few challenger tour matches using the ezone, using yellow PTP. I think he might not be too picky, considering his background and age, but also I guess he’s not confident in the racket quite yet.
Indeed, but so is US college to top 50 pro.A player his style - he had much success with the vcP HD 18x20. Going from an 18x20 to 16x19 is a huge change.
Indeed. His heavy aggressive style - should switch back to control oriented frame. The Ezone to me is for players looking to add more power. Guy doesn’t need itIndeed, but so is US college to top 50 pro.
We talkin bout practice!!@insiderman
It is just practice, not a game, practice.
Power player with a control frame is good to attack weaker opponents. Against stronger opponents, a little free power from the equipment could be very helpful.Indeed. Ben needs every bit of power he can get with that serve game.Power player with a control frame is good to attack weaker opponents. Against stronger opponents, a little free power from the equipment could be very helpful.
Agreed, yet the Contract clearly states; "whenever in the act of playing tennis - i.e., practice, matches, or exhibitions, the company logo shall appear clearly on the strings of any/all racquets being used by said player..."We talkin bout practice!!
New vcore pro, formerly called vcore pro.
Pure aero is for players looking for spin and easy power, do you think nadal needs it?... its not as easy as that, a lot of things come into playIndeed. It's still an ezone, with PTP; and will have logo from now on.

Easy one for sure.
still the Ezone?
Not at the moment, while the tournament is still running; maybe after Ive finished at WimbledonAre you able to share the string tension and gauge he used?
it looks to me like full bed poly tour proIt looks like Shelton was stringing his Poly Tour Pro yellow at 58 for the Atlanta open '23. I would guess 1.25 for gauge as that's what he was using with Rev?
it looks to me like full bed poly tour pro
editHow is it full bed PTP if it's a hybrid? Are you able to zoom on your phone?
Could be PTP Graphite. Dunno. None of us can tell. It’s probably a Yonex string, though, so it’s either Pro or Strike. I don’t see why Shelton would use a budget string, and Poly Tour Pro is as good as it gets for round polyester, with respect to ALU Power. How is it full bed PTP if it's a hybrid? Crosses are definitely PTP,, but main string is Black in color. I don't know of any other Yonex poly that is black color,,, could it be Natural gut in black color ??Could be PTP Graphite. Dunno. None of us can tell. It’s probably a Yonex string, though, so it’s either PTP or PTR. Maybe PTS but unlikely.
