Ben Shelton Racket Change?

Nah, feels great. Need to dial in string but for my taste it’s money. Not as plush as my 95s, but equally soft on the arm.
So strange, I got a demo today and immediately felt it in the elbow with light rallying. Granted it has some weird synthetic gut that feels like it’s at 55 lbs but still it doesn’t make sense why I have all these elbow and wrist issues with this racket but it’s being picked up and used by so many top pros.

I want to just buy one and make it work so bad

Bro just keep the synthetic grip and put silicone in the handle - will cut most vibrations to the arm

Does silicone in the hand make it even more muted? Already find most yonexs to have not so great feel
Ah probably, it’s been a minute since I did it - was my secrete to making my aero playable haha

I could be wrong though ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Must like the new racket, as he hit a 147mph serve against Giron the other day. Is that a career fastest serve for him? That’s certainly the hardest serve I’ve seen all year.

can you guys confrim. hes really using the Yonex REV poly ? This string had overall bad reviews by many including mark sansait so not sure how he's so successful using that poly ??
I would not let a review by mark Sansait turn you away from a string. But also remember these guys are professional tennis players, a lot of things that they like and use will not be suitable for a rec player and vice versa. Try it out and see what you think of it, from the looks of shape and material it should be a pretty good string regardless

I'm digging the pylon orange, wasn't he supposed to be moving over to on? Also looks like he's no longer wearing the Lavs. Did you start up a new IW thread?

On-Running was everyone's speculation once we saw him hanging out in Roger Pros. He's also been see training in Nikes so everything could still be open for translation. I didn't start an IW thread? Here in the PRAG forum?

Gotcha gotcha. No just wondering since you made that apparel thread for AO seeing if you were doing another one for IW since there's some interesting looks popping up.

Man Shelton's serve... jeeez

I tried poly tour rev last weekend. It was really solid. Very good control... Does not rob the power either.. nothing wild.. solid spin.. little muted maybe for some...I did not mind it. Strung 53lbs on my 22ez98..

i think with yonex racket that makes all his mishits go in and with string that plays insane,, he shoudl win multiple wimbledons now.. no doubt

From the looks of it. It makes sense why pros are switching to yonex though, seems like their frames are stiffer than the specs suggest which would allow pros to play with them with little to no tinkering. A lot of other brands they have to added a bunch of lead tape to get the stiffness right?

I could also be totally wrong, that’s just my speculation after playing with yonex sticks

Are you saying stiffness in the head allows pros to lower SW considerably? I think stiffness in the head of frame can make a very small difference but not enough. A higher SW will add power, comfort, spin and control.

Yes, stability is impacted by lead tape (i.e. the frame won't be pushed around as much by the ball because there is more weight behind it). Stiffness, on the other hand, is largely impacted by the layup and composition of the frame.
I agree, of course, but feel is also impacted by lead. I added 1,5 grams on each side of my Ezone 98 (2022) and feel was decidedly stiffer. I don't know why, but it was. It was even harsh, like it lost some flex. I took it off but mainly because it didn't seem to fit the frame. It turned cumbersome and serve lost it's magic.
