Ben Shelton's ground strokes...

Need a lot of work!

First off, I am an admirer of his and would love to see him dominate men's tennis. I feel he has enough innate talent and athleticism to be a contender in a non Big 3 world. However, his ground game is lacking during real time play. He hardly ever hits a fully followed through forehand! It's almost always abrievated, with a different contact point, no matter how much time he has. He has enough power and improvisational skill to get away with this against most players, but he would have rarely beaten an in-form Big 3 with this 'hitch'.

I won't even talk about the backhand because the weaknesses are obvious, too flat, hits straight through the ball instead of coming under and then hitting through, different contact points, etc. Even the best players tend to have a weaker side, so Ben can be allowed such as well. Plus, when he's 'on' the BH can be quite offensive.

Anyway, those are my two cents.

Thanks for the opportunity...
