Berdych may beat Nadal today

You will be wrong. They might as well pencil Nadal and Federer into the final already. In a couple of years, maybe even one year, there will be a few up and coming top guys will have gotten to the point to atleast threaten them but not now.

lol making a prediction half way through a match? I like your style!

I wouldn't be surprised at all if he did, when picking my fantasy team and I saw Berdych scheduled to face Nadal in the third round. I thought Berdych would win, he just matches up too well against him and exposes Nadal which I like to see.

Now we got to hope he can keep it up for the rest of the match.

Nadal will come back and win in 3 since Berdych is a choker.
Nadal will come back and win, but Berdych is hardly a choker. Do you remember how the final of Paribas ended last year?

Berdych is a big time choker, that is why Nadal will come back and win, and the absolute only reason he will come back to win. Nuff said. As for the Paris final he was playing another choker Ivan Ljubichoke who outchoked him.

The mens tour after Federer and Nadal are all a bunch of pathetic chokers. They should just have those two get byes to the final of every event now, except if Blake plays Nadal since he seems to play out of his mind vs Nadal each time.

Hmm, I hope you don't write fortunes for fortune cookies.

Bummer. I was so looking forward to a Nadal/Murray match up...to see how far Andy had to go.

Good result for Berdych though. He and Tursunov seem to have come into their own recently.

i garuntee everyone on this forum that berdych is the one who will be dominating the tour in 2 years. i garuntee it. hes got so much talent and potential. he just needs to work on his movement, and be able to blast 12 aces a match then hes solid top 5. he and gasquet will be dominating the tour in the comming years.

Sorry charlie.........

IMO 127mph has pretty much got it.

Berdych is here for the big-stage, though he has struggled mentally before against the likes of Federer. Gasquet should be huge very soon, and it'll be great to see the ball getting pummelled when they battle it out tommorow.

'Twas a terrible match from Nadal, who looked inexperienced and indecisive, floating balls into mid-court with the perfect trajectory to fall in to Tomas' heavy-hitting zone.

And Berdych was fearless and confident through the whole match, constantly and relentlessly attacking Nadal.

Well lets not forget that Berdych is one of the few players who has a win over Fed in the last couple years. Not the the berd will win, but he has a better shot than everyone not named Nadal, whom he just beat down by playing better tennis.

my skills dont seem to work for the lottery, bacause if they did do you think i would be posting here??

hello no

I lost all the respect to Nadal. He has zero chance to win this year's US Open. The probability is big that he will run into either Berdych, Blake or Roddick in his half of the draw in US Open and then he has to get through Federer in the final. But it was very obvious anyways because Nadal has a very weak serve and because of that he will never win a non-clay slam. At least Roddick in 2004 who was a defending champion got to the final. But Nadal loses to a no body Berdych in the third round whom Federer can beat in his sleep. My theory is that Roddick of 2003 and 2004 was a much better non-clay player than Nadal will ever be. I guess the boring Federer domination will continue.

That really sucks. Now I will make sure not to watch the final which will be very boring and predictable.
As long as i dont have to see nadal pick his butt, nose and hair for 45secs between points ill be watching.

Having nadal in the final is a turn off for me unless i have it on tape. My vcr has a 30 sec advance button on it and i can just hit it after a point ends, wait a few secs and get to see the next point when nadal is serving. He consistently takes more than 30secs every point and it just kills the flow of the match for me.

You shouldn´t lose respect for someone just because of one match. Don´t forget Nadal has beaten Federer on hardcourts 2 of 3 times they played...
Berdych also beat Federer and nobody lost respect for Roger.

Its the us open, nadal will be down in the bottom half with all the americans (like last year), and the good floaters like gasquet, berdych will all be in the fed quarter (like wimbledon). Nadal will only have to beat blake and/or roddick to get to the finals. Fed is damn good but until he beats nadal a few times in a row, i think it could go either way.

I wouldnt count him out yet. Its just one match and berdych hits kinda flat like fish and we all know nadal dont like that.

"X may beat Y today" is NOT a prediction. It's the admission of a non-zero probability of X winning... something which applies to any tennis match regardless of who X and Y are.

If you're going to make a prediction, why not say "X will beat Y today" ?

True. TennisProPaul probably wasn't too confident with the prediction, and lucked out when it actually came true.

Ya, but that wasn't even a real event worth any points. It was just the Olympics.

Roddick is no threat to Nadal right now on any surface. Blake and Berdych match up well with Nadal and seem to give him trouble, and if he faces the in the US Open, he will have a difficult time. It is possible that he could face one of these two at the open, but not probable. It is a 50 50 that either one will be on his side, so probably a 50% chance that one is in his half. But there is probably a 50% chance of Blake or Berdych losing before reaching Nadal, so that makes a 25% chance he will run into one of these guys at the Open. 25% is not a big probability. Also, Berdych is one of the top young players and has a great future, certainly not a nobody.

The only thing I see in your whole rant that is remotely logical is that Roddick of 2003 and 2004 was a better non-clay player than Nadal will be. I think that Nadal will win more than one slam outside of clay, but probably won't have a streak like Roddick's summer of 2003 when he won Canada, Cincinati, and the Open. Nadal will have a better overall non-clay career, but his peak won't be quite as high. He will never dominate like Roddick did for that summer.

FedererForever he made it to the wimbledon final almost winning so how would he not have a shot at something outside the French. If hes healthy at next years aussie then anyone with a clue knows he has a shot to beat fed due to the high bouncing surface. Berdych also beat federer when he was only 18 at the olympics which Federer really wanted to win so calling him a nobody is pretty ignorant...Berdych has the ability to blow anyone off the court when playing well.

Federer didn't play the Olympics to lose he wanted the gold medal and got beat by Berdych who was taking it to him like he did to Nadal today. Your acting like Fed let him win and didn't care lol.....They Olympics only come around once every 4 years so you can see why Fed wan't to happy about losing.

It's not a prediction if you make it half way through the match lol:mrgreen:

Berdych looked amazing, good for him.

Nadal looks tired, not much fire ect, is this the end of Nadal?

I predict that these players will continue to play amazingly until the finals in which case they will simply deflate while playing Roger, leaving everyone scratching their heads.

Why do I say this, because this has happend many times before, we see players to so amazingly and then get to the final and fall apart.

Then we all wish they had not made it in the first place.

If you mean Nadal almost won the Wimbledon final you must have been watching a different final than the rest of the planet.

I'm pretty sure that if Nadal had played Berdych in Wimbledon then he wouldn't have made it to the finals there either. You have to admit that he(Nadal) had a pretty weak draw.
