Berrettini is a great player and a strong opponent for Sunday

I think we can all set out differences aside and agree with it for once. :p

Right Nadal fans?

Right Fed fans?

Thing with Berrettini is if he has a 75% first serve kind of day then there’s very little Djokovic would be able to do on most of his service games. His game is huge, he’s an intimidating and confident player. So he honestly could shock the world and do it.

But you just feel that on a BP here and there Djokovic will be able to get one back, and once it’s a neutral rally I just don’t see Berrettini winning those crucial points. Not with the BH and movement limitations the big guy has.

Berrettini will come out firing on all cylinders and will most likely get ahead and may win the first set.
But…once Novak settles and start guessing his serves…
Long story short - Novak in 4

Funny all the supposedly weak opponents from Rafa’s oft memed USO draws have ended up being strong opponents when they play Fedovic in slams and slam finals.

Rafa just lucky like that I guess, kinda like being born between two GOATs and still winning 20 slams. Lucky guy, must be Irish or something

Berrettini is going to be a fine player, a future #1. He's like a servebot with, not acceptable, but excellent groundstrokes. I had never really watched him play, I can't believe how good he is.

But, you know, Djokovic is going to test him mentally. And Berrettini, in his first Slam final ever, will probably fall down on that score.

Novak in Wimbledon tiebreaks since 2018 is 6-1. Funny enough that 1 was against Hurkacz in 2019.

In 2019 WF Djokovic got his first break point in 4th set vs Fed and we all know how that story ended. Berrettini is just a slightly better version of 2018 Kevin Anderson.
Analogy too complex for kids to grasp.
Ladies might not agree on slightly, though.

Kids call it luck. Esp the kid who lost 3 of them in a single match.

Berretini was cracking 3 digit forehands to make set 3 and 4 at RG against Novak.

He needs to redline and make Djokovic go insane.

Gotta break that wall. It will look unbreakable but Berry must keep hitting big until it crumbles after 5+ hours.

He needs to redline for 3+ hours, though. While running around on BH side like insane Duracel bunny, or Djokovic.

Esp with his lethal BH? Or he will run around for 5+ hours?

He was banned but he somehow managed to sneak his way back in. Pretty surprising honestly. Never seen that happen before I think.

Yeah, that's why confirmed.
Because somewhere in another old post I found a comment of his and when I clicked on his id, I saw it viewing this post 50 minutes back, so I was wondering how was that possible :p

He's probably toast, you know.

Hell yeah! Matteo ruthlessly exposed a 38 year old mug and destroyed him here. The greatest grass court game possibly ever. 20 straight Wimbledon's for Berrettini, starting Sunday.

Do you think a match from 2 years ago in which Berrettini was injured, such that he played just once in the two months following the tournament, has more relevance to his grass game than the title he won at Queens two weeks ago and the 6 consecutive matches he has won this week?

He's a decent opponent, wouldn't call him strong. It doesn't matter all that much at the end of the day, you can only play who's across the net.

That’s a little unfair, and he’s considerably better this year. We’ll see just how much better on Sunday.

I feel like these threads are always made about Novak's opponents for them to only lose in straight sets later on
