Best 1.10 or 1.05 poly strings?

I have my 11 y/o (UTR 4) currently hitting with Poly / Syn Gut hybrid. She breaks it ever 2 weeks. I am looking to try full poly in a thin gauge. Since she currently uses Ghostwire 1.17 in the mains, an obvious candidate is Ghostwire 1.10.

Q: What are the best 1.10 or 1.05 gauge strings that you've used in a full bed? (or strung for others)?

I am currently considering:
  • Ghostwire 1.10
  • Tour Bite 1.10 or 1.05
  • Tour Bite Soft 1.10 or 1.05
  • Hyper G 1.10 or 1.05
  • Hyper G Soft 1.10 or 1.05
Potentially given the thin gauge we will play until it breaks or 4 weeks, whichever comes first. But ideally is playable for a 3-4 week period (I get 12-15 hours from a poly so hoping she gets 24-30).

So I get the desire to get however much string bed life, but honestly, 2 weeks per frame (I'm guessing 15+ hours?) isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if it's breaking before the poly goes dead and helping to save your daughter's arm. On that note, I'm sure you have a pretty good handle on her wellness level, but I would say 11 might be "on the bubble" for introducing a youngster to poly, even in a hybrid. Much would depend though on their physicality, development, etc.

First question: why not flip the hybrid and string a little higher? It would provide more comfort, better touch, easier depth and get her used to a more fluid, higher-snapback bed with likely even more spin at max RHS. Plus, if you use a beefy-enough and slick-enough main (a slick syn gut with a good enough durability wrap like Lightning Pro, or a multi-ester with a permanently-slick matrix to it, like HDMX), you may even get better longevity versus the poly/non-poly setup.

Despite all of the above, if you do think you want to head down the full-bed poly road, you mighty try GW 1.10 or Diadem Flash 1.15, maybe over even the narrowest gauges of TB/S and HG/S. All of those should be in a similar ball park, though.

Yes I am doing exactly this as a next setup! HDMX 1.30 / Lynx (round poly) 1.25.

Does she break the poly mains?
No she does not. The Ghostwire 1.10 / SG 1.25 lasted 14 days, about 25 hours practice time. It feels very comfortable end to end. Though I think for this hybrid I'd go back to 1.17 or 1.22 (1.10 seemed to fly on her a bit more). Though Im in no rush to go full poly to be clear. If there's a comfortable enough poly I'd go with it. For now using multi in the mains is something Ill test out. If I go full poly, trying Volk Cyclone Tour 1.30 is an option (played with it myself).

Imo skip the 1.05 solincos, they are all over the place after a half court warmup.
1.10 is ok on the other hand (tried tour bite and hyper g in both gauges.

Luxilon Timo 1.10 was the best, discontinued.

Isospeed v18 is 1.12 but it is pretty good. Definitely on the softer side, so great for arm comfort. Good power and a bit dampened like some Yonex strings. Not really crisp or plastic-y though.

I liked it, give it a go. Affordable too but nice quality. Average tension maintenance but it doesn't get harsh like some soft polys.

MSV Focus Hex 1.10 ... best String i ever played ... i cut it out ever 3-6 Weeks, and it hardly breaks. Great Feel, soft, a lot of spin. ma goto Poly at any time.
