Best 2nd Serve game?

HailDjokovic

Semi-Pro
Who has the best second serve game(this includes after the kick serve). Djokovic currently leads second serve points won at 59% on the tour even outclassing the likes of isner and raonic. Nadal is a steady second at 58%.

Djokovic has a pretty decent speed kick serve that go up to 100-102 mph(wimbledon 2013) and angles it proficiently. After that the opponents are stretched and he easily consilidates the point. Nadal relies less on the serve and his goal is to get the second serve in with a little slice but his rallying potential after the serve is tremendous.

So who has it? Djokovic,Nadal, someone else?
I pick Djokovic

Ironically I saw a YOUTUBE on Kick Serves that said Fed actually had the highest 2nd serve percent amongst active players on the tour. Not sure how accurate this is but from what he was wearing in the video, it appeared to be at least a yr old.

I'm talking about this year... this year federer is standing at 56% in 5th place. I think prime Fed had one of the best kick serves of all time since he used virtually the same toss everytime and it was unreadable

He's ranked 5th??? Can't lie, I'm surprised he's ranked that high.

Hmmm, this is a good question. Will have to think about this but I do think Djokovic defends his second serve better than anyone else.

Yeah i thought it would be a good question since your second serve points won is the most vital statistic in every match and it determines your overall sucess and placement in the atp.

My pick is Nadal, because he backs his (pretty ordinary) second serve kicker up with a monster forehand (which Djokovic does not have).

Nadal's forehand needs plenty of coiling/preparation time, so the best way to lose a return game against him is to return short and/or slow (slice it), which is what Federer always does on his backhand, and what Djokovic tries to avoid.

If we're talking about 2013, I think the facts support Djokovic as the best second server in the game, at the moment. I think Djok's 2nd serve kicker is a little underated. He hits his spots, with decent pace, and frequently get's that ball 6+ feet in the air, with wicked spin. Then his ground game, of course, is tough to get into if he gets you with a good kicker.

If you look at career: then it's Rafa, beating even Roger Federer (from a percentages perspective, not total points).

John Isner is surprisingly high on the career list as well--at number four!--and that's probably because his second serve bounces 12 feet in the air, off the corners, at a blistering 110+ MPH. I also think that if R. Harrison would stop being such a hack, he could eventually be in the 2nd serve conversation.

nadal and nole lead that stat because they are the best baseliners not because their second serve is great.

it is certainly solid but nowhere near the quality of sampras or even federer.
