Best ball options for Slinger

Hi all,

End of the last season, I ordered a Slinger, and used it 3-4 times before Winter arrived. I used some old balls I had, plus a few new cans I had. A mix of old Championship Penn, Wilson US Open, and Pro Penn. From experience, Pro-Penn lasts the longest, not just bounce, but also it has the best felt, US Open next, Penn Championship way behind both. I also got a few ball pressurizers, to keep them as bouncy as possible, but I need to buy at least 12 more cans to have nice long sessions. So, with my setup and new season starting soon, WHICH BALLS work best and best value for my Slinger?!

Wilson triniti seems to be longest lasting, but I never liked the feel of it, and I've heard it might hurt your arm?! Also, its prices now are much higher than even US Open?! So, should I just invest in Pro-Penn, try to pressurize them between plays or it's too expensive of a ball for a ball machine?! or should I just get a Championship set of Penn/Wilson, pressurize between sets and just hit and keep the nicer balls for games?!

Thanks!

Diadems seem to last a long time and are significantly less expensive than pro penns (I love pro penns, but they are kinda pricey)

Oh I saw some good review of those. They’re hard to find though.

I actually might just get some Penn championship balls from Costco. I bet they’re the same as retail ones and super cheap. Should be sufficient for ball machine I’d say. Essentially half the cost pro-Penn balls. Maybe pro-Penn last twice as long, but not sure.

The Penn 1/2 case packs used to be a good value, we found them at Wal Mart. Lately something has happened. Lately we have been getting only about of 2 hours of old man doubles out of them before they go dead and fluff up....

So, just ordered some Costco Penn balls. This is how they look like?! Is this how all new Penn Championships look now?

PS. Gotto find a way to link the photo.

I use the Wilson Triniti and have never had any arm issues.

Gamma preassureless work well and keep bounce. They are a bit heavy so can't go full swing on them but good for practice.

Thanks guys. I just emailed Penn and these balls are legit Penn Championship just in new packaging. As they’re so affordable, I’ll stick with them for now and report how they do.

Apparently these are favorite balls for intuitive tennis.

I will use a few ball pressurizers to keep em as fresh as possible. Hope it all works well. My next set might be Diadem to compare.

Thanks

Wait for the uso open wilsons to go on price break, they do it a few times a year. It’s my favorite ball generally and in the slinger

Good idea, I will keep an eye open. I just hit a session yesterday with the new Penn Championship balls, they were pretty good. I think for the price, can't beat em. It costs 70% LESS than Pro-Penn, or US Open, and from experience, those other balls last 30% more or so. Time will tell I guess.

I have been snagging good used balls from the trash at my local court. Yes, you can wash them in a washing machine if you think they're too dirty.

Then, I toss them into my corny keg at 25#.

Unopened cans are pressurized to 14#, so 25# is a nice pressure for lightly used balls.
