Best Deal on Thorlos...no deal to be found

What's the deal with the continued increase in the price of Thorlos? I know Thorlo put the fix on the price of their socks but still I can't find them for under $10 and TW now wants over $11. What happened to market power and the increased competition internet resale creates?

Four years ago I paid $6 per pair
Two years ago I paid $8 per pair
And now I can't find them for under $10

Well imo Throlo better not price themselves out of the market. Wake up and smell the coffee. There is a lot of competition in sockland. There are a lot of high level socks that are in the $5-7 range which are as good or even better. I tried a bunch of different brands now and won't buy Thorlos unless they reduce their prices significantly.

i agree with goober. if you are upset with the price, then switch brands and find yourself a better deal. eventually they will have to lower their prices, unless others continue to buy them, which would make me think that their product might be worth the price.

And some alternatives would be....??

Well it depends what you are looking for and obiviously you would have try a variety to get what you like.

For level 3 cushioning- Wigwam double sole, New Balance Elite Crew, Adidas ultra cushion, Powersox thick crew. A lot of people simply wear two pairs of socks.

For moisture wicking- Under Armor or Nike Drifit.

I am sure there are others people can chime in on.

some alternatives?? especially with being able to purchase things online, there are thousands of alternatives. i personally buy cheap socks from wal mart and wear two pair for xtra comfort and cuchion. but as with racquets, grips, cloths, or anything else you are looking to buy, you can find plenty of great products made by all different companies. look around, and you will find some alternatives.

I have tried the options and nobody makes a sock as thick as the Level 3/Original Thorlo. I wore 2 pair for many years out of necessity but never liked it. If a company would just knock off the Thorlo Level 3 they would have my business.

As for only an extra $4 per pair, I buy 12 pair at a time, thats $48 dollars more or 8 extra pair of socks. I can afford it but the price is not justified.

No, I didn't get it. I'll check my account now. Thanks

However, I did just find a vendor on the auction site, for $7.50 a pair shipped.

The Champions socks are really cheap at Costco, and I love the CoolMax fabric. Much preferable to the super stuffy Thorlos.
