Yeah but people voted that "best answer" because they thought it was funny. It is funny, the idea of an infinite loop. People don't believe that it could really happen.^^^ this thread never ceases to amaze me with how unbelievably stupid some people are. How do they even get out of bed in the morning?
Lincoln introduced the Emancipation Proclamation because he also wanted to keep Britain, France, etc out of the war. Since those countries don't support slavery the EP made the war exclusively just to free slaves so European nations wouldn't join. I don't really think it gave any side morale since they both lost so many troops especially after Pickett's Charge and Gettysburg altogether drafts were initiated. The only way to get out of the draft was to be incredibly wealthy which hardly anyone was. So after seeing the list of names for the draft in the newspaper you can flip to the next page and you can immediately see every single casualty, now I just don't see how that can boost morale.really it was to "preserve the union" but soldiers wanted a better reason to go to war and die for their country so lincoln said we're not just fighting to preserve the union, we are fighting for the freedom of these people. It gave the troops more morale.
