Best for Spin, but not Poly?

G.O.A.T.
Yes I would love to use Hex Poly this and Triangular Poly that. Because of lingering tennis elbow issues I cannot use poly in the mains.

But I do need a string that will increase/enhance/allow as much spin as I can get.

As a rule I already try to use the thinnest strings I can to maximize spin. (I was taught tennis in the late 60s, pre-Borg, when everything was flat as a pancake--so as much as I try to get spin, I can always use more.)

Any suggestions on softer synths or multis that do a good job of increasing spin would be greatly appreciated.

I've been impressed with Yonex 850 Pro and OGSM Super 16L recently.

Sounds like Quasi Gut might be worth considering also.

Head rip control or Gamma live wire professional spin.

I would recommend putting synthetic gut mains and multifilament crosses strung 5lbs tighter to get spin. When I did this, the multifilament kept the syn gut mains from moving and produced more spin for me.

Good luck

Agree with the two above. X-one is top notch. Volkl gripper, a textured multi, has a few people talking these days but I have yet to try it.

At the high end, Gamma Professional Spin is excellent. If this string came in thinner gauges it would be perfect as a poly alternative for spin but even in 16 gauge I think it's the best non-poly string for spin!

On the lower end, Prince Topspin generates pretty good spin but beware - it moves around like crazy!

i think ill stop while im still ahead....

Sorry, wasnt on the forums much.

Well the Babolat Raptor is a different beast altogether. It will most probably kill your arm, however the durability is unmatched and the bite is crazy. You can really feel that motha putting his big mouth on the tennis ball.

Tried Volkl Gripper recently. Really liked it. Noticeably more spin than NRG2 or X1 biphase, a little firmer feeling and great pop.
