Best Grass court shoes & where to order online?

I am having a hard time finding good shoes for Grass Court tennis. I usually wear Barricade IVs or Vs - and played a tourney on grass last summer in Vs - but slipped all over the place. They guy I lost to told me to find better shoes.

I've searched threads here, and haven't found a resounding winner - or good place to buy online. Adidas Barricade II Grass was one option - can't find them anywhere I've looked so far tho. Which Nike Cages to get, or is there something better?

I'd like to sort this out soon so I can get used to the shoes. I can totally relate to one poster who claimed he was worried about not finding grass shoes before a tourney.

Now I've got time to solve it, so I'd like to in the next month or so.

Suggestions? thanks, K_I

If you see a pair of Fila grass courts I'd get them. They don't seem to stay around very long. I use the Adidas feathers, which I only use for my trip to the grass courts & my 5 or so other visits to grass courts in my area.
The retro Adidas in this weeks Vblog might be another good choice as the have a mild stud pattern. If you cannot get any of these, use a new pair of shoes.
Another grass court player I know uses a Racketball shoe for is softer rubber compound.
One thing to remember decrease the your stride.

If you go on one of the British websites, you can probably find a pair of Cage 2's with the grass tread. Try p w p, they had the white ones that Rafa wore with the black swoosh. Hope that was helpful, Good Luck!

Great advice; thanks all. PBODY - how are the feather IIIs?

Otherwise I might go the Nike route - esp if they can be ordered in the US.

Thanks all! Looking forward to hitting the grass this summer! K_I

I see a pair of grass court Cage IIs and the bay and it got me wondering. Can grass court soled shoes be worn on any other surface?

I've got the nadal white cages with grass court sole. If you live in England you can always get grass shoes around wimbledon time.

One word- e'bay! :D
Seriously everytime I look on there, there is a pair or two for sale. I would get a pair because they are cheaper than retail but I've never played on grass and I don't play on grass or clay... :( I really want to try those surfaces though! :(

Is it alright to wear grass shoes on astro? I tried my breath fee grass shoes on astro and they lost a few pimples.
