The Goodwill closest to me had a grand opening on Saturday(new location just across the intersection from their old place). I did well to bike ride in the rain rather than take advantage of their 'sales'. I'm guessing I've donated more rackets there than any single person...just hasn't been a great racket location. I'll take more this week and MAYBE will go inside ;) Still trying to cut down on my collection.

Your an inspiration coach ! My new years goal should be once a week, just take rackets to the Goodwill for drop off and then go for a bike ride.

Sadly, I ventured into the new store and walked out with a near pristine Arthur Ashe Competition (original). Looks to have been used once! There was not another racket of interest on the shelf(part of the problem is their displays). Can't believe I bought another racket when my intent is to clear them out(at least down to a dozen or so). Not sure what your weather has been; but we've set a couple of records for high temps in the past two weeks. One more day in the 70s on Tuesday, then more seasonable temps for about a week they say. We saw the mid-80s for Christmas week!!!

I can believe you grabbed a mint AAC1 since they are beautiful with the shiny alum plates and boron filler.
I was in SCal for the holidays and it was cooler and more rainy than in TX. Oh well, still got in some tennis and enjoy a few days around the beach. Cheers for 2017 !

Not a speck of oxidation or flecking on the overlays...grip looks unused except for 'shop' wear. Not too shabby for 45+ years old! I looked much worse at that age!!!

Not a thrift store, but on Etsy, just picked up what I think from Googling is a Volkl V1, for $21. Good deal? I've no experience with Volkl but heard good things. Here it is:[IMG]

I just moved to a new area in the south with a much bigger tennis community than where I previously lived. Something I'm looking forward to the most is searching new thrift shops for old tennis racquets. Do i have a problem? Does anyone have the number for RA (racquetaholics anonymous)?

Went out for lunch today and stopped by a thrift store next door...Found a Wilson ProStaff "Lite Classic" 7.0 Steffi Graf model - but 110 sq. in. version - not 95. for $1.98.
Frame is nearly 9/10 shape, grip needs to be changed. Think I'll clean it up, restring/re-grip it and give it to my wife for Valentine's day... :D

@coachrick well... which rackets are you trying to get rid of? Any interesting one's from the 1985-1995 timeframe?

If that was directed to me, I'm working on a grab-bag sale(unless I go crazy and hit the 'bay). Don't want to bend the TOS rules here; but the answer to your question is perhaps yes with many from the decade prior to your timeframe.

Found a Tecnifibre TFeel 305 XL with bag for $9.98 today. I don't know much about this frame but always wanted to try a Technifibre racquet.
In decent shape, small chip on the frame, moderate wear on bumper, and dirty but intact original grip.

What a great playing frame. Harder to find than a POG. Top three frames I've played out of the 50+ I've played over the years.

Try some Leoina UFO pink for a real blast of the past!!! :) Darned string channels are so shallow, just about any thicker gauge string was exposed! Couple of scrapes on the court and ...POP!!! Pretty cool racket otherwise...good find!!!

WAIT! EDIT...Is that a bumper guard on yours? Disregard comments about shallow string channels. They are still shallow on yours; but the bumper would protect the strings from 11 oclock to 1 oclock...unlike the early bumperless models

Yes - there is a bumper guard! I don't know what kind of head tape the previous owner used, but there isn't a single scratch on the bumper. Only draw back was it left a thick nasty layer of goo behind. Took lots of elbow grease and Goo-Gone to get it off. Leoina UFO pink would be funny to put on it...never tried it though..I was brought up on good ol' L66 ;-)

I think phone apps have become the new thrift store, at least for me. I saw an ad on Letgo for 6 tennis racquets for $25. I contacted the seller and we met the next day. The six racquets were in the garage and he handed them to me to check out. He then said "Oh wait there's more" and went inside and brought out 3 more and two cans of balls, unopened. Here's what I bought.

And here's the best part! A 4 3/4M piece of French history.

Going to string her up and experience "Plow Through" to the next level!

Today I found a T2000 and a Bosworth Performance Target 210 Plus for $4.00 total at Goodwill. Don't know much about this widebody Bosworth. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated. The Bosworth has what looks like original matching blue strings, pretty minty racket except for the grip which looks more dry rot as the head guard has few scrapes, and no chips or scratches in the frame. The T2000 is in pretty nice shape too.

I was out today. I picked up a couple of wood Jack Kramer Autographs in great shape with very light use if ever used. I also picked up two T2000 racquets and both had the welds at the throats which is rare. They also look to have never been used. Finally, I picked up a box framed six.one 95 and an extra length Dunlop Revelation Professional 90. The Dunlop is an ISIS version in green. I think Dunlop should bring back their ISIS line with the tag line of Terrorizing a Court Near You!

Third photo down in my post. I have an O3 tour MS that was part of my racket haul for $25. I'm not familiar with this frame. Just getting back into playing after years of vertigo issues.
