Roger Federer d. Marat Safin 6-3, 7-6 (18) Tennis Masters Cup Semifinal. - Tied for longest tie-break.

Any other suggestions? I think Nadal-Roddick deserves to be on the list, but my vote would be Safin-Agassi. You can vote at:

I would have liked Federer and Hewitt's Grand Slam matches to be on there, especially their AO 4th round.

In terms of competitiveness, I'd go with either Santoro/Clement, or maybe Sargsian/Massu. But the match I enjoyed the most was the Roddick/Federer Wimbledon final (minus the rain delays).

I have to say Safin - Agassi match was awesome. Some of the best ball striking I have ever saw from both players. I also watched Massu - Sargsian live (parts of it, since once you leave your spot, it is really hard to get it back, since they palyed on a 1000 court 13 or something, woth qabout 2000 people watching) at the Open this year and that was something unbelievable but I wouldn't call it the best match quality-wise. The crowd was crazy though..
So, my vote goes to Safin - Agassi.

As far as drama and competition, the one that sticks out to me is the Sargsian/Massau match. As far as the one I enjoyed the most, the Federer/Roddick Wimbledon final was it. Roddick looked to take the match and Federer raised his game.

I think Federer and Agassi US Open has to be thrown out because of the extreme wind strength and poor quality play. I would have trouble choosing between the Wimbledon final and Safin/Agassi Australian Open match. Safin played so many memorable matches down under. I think Safin and Roddick has to be tops though, because of the sheer pressure and magnitude of the match, the winner got a slam win to add to their tally and the loser got a bellyache.

I thought the Sargsian/Mathieu 3rd round match at the US Open might have been even better than the one against Massu or at least also very dramatic, suspenseful, and entertaining. If you don't remember or didn't see it, Sargsian came back from 2 sets to love down to take the match in a dramatic 5th set tiebreak. The 5th set alone took 94 minutes to complete with the last couple of games taking like an hour with all the deuces.

Agassi def. Roddick at Cincinnati was sick, some of the best tennis I've ever seen. It was awesome seeing Agassi pull it out against Roddick, a player ten years or so his junior.

I think the Agassi-Safin match was just amazing ball-striking.....it was like two power punchers going at it. The Roddick-Federer Wimbledon final was also some great tennis as well. but my choice is probably that aussie semifinal.

Marat Safin d. Andre Agassi 7-6(6), 7-6(6), 5-7, 1-6, 6-3-Australian Open Semifinal - Awesomr match. The semi against Roddick was also brilliant.

Fabrice Santoro d. Arnaud Clement 6-4, 6-3, 6-7(5), 3-6,16-14 -Roland Garros 1 st Round - (Time: 6:33) - Long match but the tennis wasn't as good as others. It's on the list because it went for ages. Personally, I'd rather watch a 2 setter of better quality (ie. Federer/Safin at TMS)

Gaston Gaudio d. Guillermo Coria 0- 6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1, 8-6 -Roland Garros Final - No way. Coria was all over Gaudio for the first 2 sets, then Gaudio was all over Coria for the next 2 while Coria played baby-ishly. Just standing in a spot and lollypopping serves in and not bothering with other shots.

Roger Federer d. Andy Roddick 4-6 7-5 7-6(3) 6-4 -Wimbledon Final - Good, but not in the league of other top matches.

Andre Agassi d. Andy Roddick 7-5, 6-7(2), 7-6(2) -AMS Cincinnati Semifinal - Didn't see.

Roger Federer d. Andre Agassi 6-3, 2-6, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3 -US Open Quarterfinals - Great match.

Roger Federer d. Marat Safin 6-3, 7-6 (18) Tennis Masters Cup Semifinal. - Tied for longest tie-break. - Awesome tennis between the best 2 players in the world at the time.

For sheer quality of tennis, Roger Federer/Lleyton Hewitt USO final. Nobody had played tennis in that quality for the whole year like Federer did in that match.

Gaudio/Coria FO final. Much at stake, injury, the strategic throwing of a set, and an underdog winner who looked already soundly defeated at the beginning of the 3rd set.

Definitely the Wimbledon final. I just downloaded this match and am watching it for the second time and it is such and intense game.

The Wimbledon final was intense but I vote for Roland Garros, the most bizarre, edge-of-your-seat final of the year.

For sure Agassi V Roddick at Cincinatti, I have NEVER seen tennis of that high a quality be kept up straight through a match like that.
