Hi, everybody.

I am using K90 right now and quite love it. But I am looking for a more forgiving and more comfortable midsize version of K90. So What is the best midsize racquet available now on Tennis Wareshoue in your opinion?

I've tried the

Head Microgel Prestige Mid Racquet
Prince Tour Diablo Racquet
Wilson K Factor KPro Staff 88 Racquet
Wilson K Factor KSix-One Tour 90 Racquet
Yonex RDS 001 Mid Racquet

the more foregiving racquets from the list up there were the

1 Head Microgel Prestige Mid Racquet
2 Wilson K Factor KPro Staff 88 Racquet
3 Wilson K Factor KBlade Tour Racquet
4 Prince Tour Diablo Racquet
5 Yonex RDS 001 Mid Racquet
6 Wilson K Factor KSix-One Tour 90 Racquet

The more comfortable in my opinion (here No. is between KPS88 and Prestige) very comfortable

1 Wilson K Factor KPro Staff 88 Racquet
2 Head Microgel Prestige Mid Racquet
3 Yonex RDS 001 Mid Racquet
4 Prince Tour Diablo Racquet
5 Wilson K Factor KSix-One Tour 90 Racquet

I bought the Prestige but I was thinking also in the KPS88, but like more the 18x20 string patern from the Prestige, but I felt it very light so I put some lead tape.

I personally think the K90 is a better stick than the Microgel Prestige I use. K90 is slightly more accurate, more percise. It's more stable on the volleys and the serves come off that racquet just a bit heavier than than the current prestige. Ground srokes seemed about equal to me. Balance is different on these racquets so prefernce on this could be an issue. The prestige however feels smooth and buttery. Not words I would use to describe the k90 even when you hit the sweet spot. If I were still using the k90 it would have to be babolat vs gut for me. I string with full set of big banger on the prestige and haven't had any arm issues of any sort. Also had a very difficult time getting matched k90's. Off by several grams even after several returns. Prestiges were nearly identical in weight and balance. The kblade mids I tried seemed lighter and stiffer than spec but I didn't actually weigh those. I'd comment on some of the other racquets listed in this thread but the playtime with them was either to brief or not at all.

Also wanted to add that I'm not sure if I got lucky with my Prestiges matching or if Head has good quality control since I've been hearing manufacturing standards and quality control is way down among almost all the manufacturers. I don't have any proof but after my personal experience and hearing what some other people have to say, I think Wilson makes a better racquet but quality control is non-existent so matching racquets is going to take alot of TLC in regards to custumization. It ended up being to much of a headache for me. Also the slightly superior performance wasn't worth dealing with the stiffness of the frame.

My current racquet is the BB11md, but the only other mid that I tried is the K90. IMO K90 is slightly stronger on serves, but I prefer BB for everything else.

I own the Boris Becker Mid and I am not a big fan of it. Looking to sell it actually. It's too sensitive and works only with an extreme western/eastern grip. On the flipside it's the best volley/net racquet hands down period. But I did not like hitting with it because it's just over powered. My rac of choice is still the Head 280 like everyone else.:)

I like the Yonex RDS001 mid. It plays with great flex and feel yet is powerful enough. The open string pattern gives awesome spin.

I used to play with the k90 and loved it, but I couldn't make it work for dubs. I switched to the BB11 mid and love it. For me, it does everything a little better and is more forgiving than the k90. It is also slightly more comfortable.

The negative comments on this frame are bizarre IMO. I'm not saying they're wrong, just completely out of line with my experience and that of many other posters on this board who have used this frame.

That said, racquet selection is highly personal. The only way to really find out is to demo them. Be sure to put them through a thorough test. When i demo a frame I schedule time with different players with markedly different styles, and also schedule some dubs as well. I even will experiment with different string set-ups before commiting to plunking down big dollars for several frames.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Bb11

The only wrong thing I did with BB11 was playing with it.

I agree, that it is a flexible racquet, nevertheless, I got TE playing with it for a few months...

Being new to mids, I made a thread quite a while back asking for mid recommendations, and, among other attributes, for being forgiving (what with its slightly bigger head than most mids), having good power, being a topspin frame, etc, well, the BB11 mid was just about top of the list of what folks suggested.

I then played with it a handful of times and liked it very, very much, but I did have some slight overhitting (or finding it a tad lively at random times) issues, and an occasional thought about its true solidiity and heft (like on return of big serves.)

Fast forward to now and I just had my BB11 mid restrung and played with it on Thursday - result: even better performance, and my slight doubts have been all but banished...

It blasts out a booming serve... there's topspin on tap... excellent maneuverability... good touch... nice weight... lovely soft and comfy feel (and btw I'm completely amazed that anyone could get TE playing a BB11 mid  )... so... definitely demo if you can!

And FWIW, I'd personally add the AG 100, DNX 10 mid, the Diablo mid, and the Prestige mid to the demos ( a few of which I'm actually hoping to check out in the near future for further mid experience.)

RDS001 90 or BB11 Mid can't go wrong with either one.

RDiS 100 93 is another recommendation but frame is stiffer than the two above.
