Best non poly you've ever tried? Need advice

Why would 16 not loose ''structure'' too ? What does really mean ''loose of structure'' ?

u really must have no clue...u and TimeToPlaySets would make a great team...

when the ball hits the strings, the strings are invariably going to be loosened because the strings are being stretched. 16g has more material to prevent it from becoming as elastic as a thinner 17g would, thereby causing tension loss, increase in power/comfort, decrease in control. 17g may have more vibration than 16g but the force of the shock to the arm (when mishitting) of the 16g is greater because it has more mass and elasticity than the 17g

whoops TYPO, 17g has more elasticity than 16g, figured that’s common knowledge, 17g has more vibration than 16g but 16g produces more harmful shocks to the arm

Hi GS. Thanks for the feedback on the NRG2. We just launched a "new" string, HDMX.

Years ago, alot of TT people here loved Tecnifibre 515, a great all-around multifiliment. Back then, a TF rep told me, "Don't worry, it'll never be discontinued. It's our flagship string." 4 months later, it was gone.
Even better was your TF 515 Gold, which was pre-stretched.
I've tried all your "replacement" strings, like TGV and Multifeel, but never really liked them. And never liked the X-One. I can't afford NRG2 because it doesn't last.
I may try your new HDMX soon.
You may still be making the TF 305, but that's a squash string. Why not make a lot of people happy, and start making the 515 again? A very simple solution for increased sales....

Prince Premier Control. Get the 16 gauge, or the 15 if you can still find it. Best feeling multi I've hit with ever.

Poly is killing my wrist, even the softer ones like Hyper G. I'm sure it's a matter of my technique, but until I fix it, I'll be in need of a soft, decent string.

I play with a Prince Textreme 95 and hit relatively flat. I'd be looking for a more control string at 17g that isn't poly, nor natural gut (due to price, of course). Any suggestions? I'm thinking more a multifilamen, similar to Wilson's NXT perhaps..

Prince Premier Control. Just a great balance of power and control. Very comfy. Very spin friendly.

Team LF Supreme 2.0, Head Velocity, Bab Origin. Next Gen multis. Sort of Multi/Poly hybrid all in one string. Head Velocity is a great buy..

Why not natural gut, or Wilson Champion's Choice? Neither has a significant shock or vibration, neither requires shock absorber, both are arm friendly.

It's not a multi and not a poly, but what Tecnifibre calls a "HYBRID 3D" string. A new category for us, where the player gets all the benefits of a hybrid in 1 string. The comfort & power of a poly, the durability/control of a poly. Duramix also fits into the Hybrid 3D category.

How is it different from HDX Tour?

This is the general rule, but not always the case. You can find info on many strings on the TWU database and compare gauges.

I used to play with Kirschbaum Competition many years ago, and I was surprised when I tried the 16g over my usual 17g to find that it felt a bit softer. Looking it up in the TWU db it's stiffness is rated the same as the 17g but it has slightly higher energy return, better spin potential, and of course there's more mass so it raises the swing weight of the racquet. I assume my feeling of it as softer is due to all those factors.

The 17L version of competition is rated quite a bit less stiff, so I could have gone down to that from 17g but I would have lost a lot of durability.

If you look at Spiky Shark, which I played after Competition, the 17g is clearly less stiff based on the numbers and that is the gauge I used when that was my string of choice.

‘Better’ is subjective. Like they say, ‘beauty is in the eye of the beholder’...Id say that hyperG has better spin, lower powered while Xperience provides more comfort/power (less control) so it really depends what you’re looking for in a string.
