Best overgrips

What are the best overgrips that are absorbent, soft, and tacky? I use the wilson overgrips but I find they don't absorb sweat very well and aren't that tacky for long. Any good suggestions?

I use Yonex. I have to change them very often though; during competitive matches I might go through a whole grip, otherwise maybe every 2-3 sessions.

If you are a competitive player, I doubt you will find a solution that lasts long.

Just look for something that fits the other descriptions, and buy lots :)

I've always been using the Wilson Pro Overgrips (White)... you can usually get them at a steal....30 pack for 26 or 25 dollars. Great Price, and they perform better than any replacement grip or leather grip I have used. If I don't have one on, I feel like a N00b...Serious. More than half of the high school team I was on used these white grips cause they last long enough and are grip well. When you start to notice slippage or a darkening color after multiple usages, it's time for you to change it. During my season playing every weekday and saturday, I changed them at least once every two weeks......I was Michigan Division 3 1st-Doubles state champion this last fall season, if that might help "convert" you. hope this all has helped you in your search and game.

Yeah those are the ones I've been using, and they are good, but after a while they get slippery. So I'm wondering if there is a better grip for absorbing sweat, since I sweat a lot, because replacing these all the time gets expensive.

Tournagrip and Babolat VS Team overgrips are the best grips for absorbing sweat. If you want Wilson Pro that absorbs better, go with Tourna 2.

an economical alternative for sweaty hands is to use a towel in between points as your opponent is picking up a ball or two around the court. or use your shirt/shorts.

one more thing......try to be less frequent in changing your grip positions or twisting/spinning your racquet as you wait....that will also makes your grip less grippy. yup...good luck in your search

Thanks for leading me on to this one, I read the reviews and it sounds great! I'll have to try it soon, because I like the Wilson Pro I just don't think it lasts enough or absorbs enough.

Yeah, it's a great grip for the all seasons but summer, where Tourna Orig. is the only option for my sweaty hands.

I was going to say the same thing,
Tourna 2 = Tacky + Absorbent
Tourna Original = Absorbent.

And, I don't think there's any grip that'll last you a month or so.

I've tried every overgrip known to man... and hands down Tourna Grip II in the winter and Original Tourna Grip in the summer is the best Brand and choice of overgrips to go with. Unique is the originator when it comes to overgrips and there has not been a company that can duplicate their quality when it comes to overgrips.

Amen, brotha!

^^^I've tried the bab symbio on my rackets a while back and I remember them lasting a long time on my rackets, probably twice as long as my experience with other grips. It's a good non tacky grip with its suede-like texture.

I just picked up a ten pack of the Tourna II from TW and I like it a lot so far. Was kind of caught off guard with the periwinkle color (opposed to the distinct tourna "blue,"), but it's functionality over fashion in this case.

For me Prince Microtec grips are the best - uber-lux comfort, yet firm enough not to feel spongy like wilson and yonex grips do. Grip level is just right too - will not rip up your skin, but you will still have confidence that your racket isn't going anywhere.

P.S. DO NOT buy these grips in black - I don't know what the hell they do with black grips but they feel plastiky, cheap and give almost no traction.

Tournagrip has alwasy worked for me, and like the other posters said, go with Tournagrip II if you want something that is absorbent and tacky as well.

ummm...idk the best overgrip...i use tournagrip, bab vs overgrip, and wilson pro white overgrip...and they all gave me blisters...well not the vs overgrip it was just annoying when the grip slipped out of alignment...

i personally live tourna grip its gotta be 1 of my favourites. bcoz its not that durable ive tried yonex supergrap. a nice grip last long but doesnt feel as good as a fresh tourna

Hey, mag, I can send you a free sample of my favorite overgrip (which I order in bulk and get for 50 cents apiece. Can any of you readers name this great, low-cost overgrip? It comes in many colors and is just slightly tacky....)
The first 3 callers get a free sample in basic white. Just post your e-mail address or else request mine....

If you tell me what it is I'll maybe think about it lol

Is it better to get the XL version of the tournagrip? Because I heard the normal size is not long enough. Is that true?

Yeah, Tournagrip's normal size comes up alittle short---get the XL.
My favorite overgrip is from KlipperUSA. It's not half bad.

the original tournagrip is good if you only wrap as far as your hand goes, and if you use a 1 handed backhand. the xl version is perfect for me, i can wrap up all the way for my two handed bh, and still have some left over, on a 3/8 grip.

I'm out in tropical SE Asia, and I SWEAT!

I found a Japanese brand going by the name of 'Kimony' to be the most awesome overgrip in the market...very grippy despite liters of sweat...

Wilson's a joke, and they unfortunately dominate the market here, including their crappy balls...

Kimony is the name!

i personally love the yonex supergrap. seems to have everything i need. tacky, soft, absorbs a little, somewhat durable, and comes in tons of colors. i prefer white, but also use black because white gets dirty so quickly. they are also plenty long enough for any grip, and are well priced.

yes. but 2 ex.

Wilson Pro Overgrip is great - tacky and soft, though overly-absorbent.

I've only ever bought white, so I'm not really sure about other colors...

it is just color. or are u superstitious?

but anyway, to me, Tourna II is still the best, tacky and absorbent.
Tourna original is just dry, not tacky at all, very poor in durability. and because it can't last long, it is expensive to use.

but couldn't find Tourna II recently in my local stores, so gotta choose the Wilson Pro grey color, which is cheaper than Yonex super grap or Babolat Team.

try forten wrap-tack! i recently bought some just to try it, and i love it. good at absorbing sweat, tacky, and lasts a fair while. i tried yonex supergrap before i tried wrap-tack, and i like the wrap-tack better.

When its hot: Tourna Original
When its not: Tourna2, Head XtremeSoft, Yonex Supergrap. If you want it absorbant then its the Tourna2

my hands sweat like crazy so i used to be a tourna grip man but tourna grip was a bit to dry and it doesn't last long at all, also when it wears it gets kinda slick, so i tryed babolat VS grip and it is amazing, it still feels dry but not to dry, it last much longer, and wears consistantly

A lot of people have been saying that tourna 2 is great in colder weather but not in hot. Why is that?

its not that tourna 2 isn't good in hot weather, its just that tourna users cannot be swayed on another hot weather grip. Tourna 2 is as good or better than any other "tacky" grip at absorbing sweat, but the inherent qualities that make any grip tacky don't lend themselves to really absorbing sweat all that well.

My tourna 2 didn't last me very long 2 days at the most. Sometimes it wouldn't even make it through the match.

The Unique Light Blue tournagrips are amazing. They are super absorbent and can stay tacky forever. There was a time during the summer where I was playing a couple of my friends on a day where the rain was pouring and everybody but me ended up having their racket fly out of their hands at least twice (I was the only one using the tournagrips).

How's the durability? I'm always disappointed with the original one...
