Best practice on hybrid strings tension

I am considering putting in a hybrid setup with Hyper g 17 in mains, and Wilson Power 16 in the crosses.

My interests are in comfort and spin.

Do you have any recommendations on tension for both, or at least tension ratio? Should tension on poly or synthetic be higher, etc.? (e.g. poly 20% higher than synth crosses, etc.)

Are you referring to NXT Power? If so then I don't think you will achieve either with this setup.

1. You have the have the stiffer string (Hyper G) in the mains.
2. You have the softer string in the crosses thus it will fray and then lock the entire string bed resisting snapback for spin.

I would put the multi in the mains and the poly in the crosses. I do think there are better strings for a Hybrid of this type.

As far as tensions for the hyper g/nxt power hybrid I do not have experience with that setup to comment but 20% seems quite a big differential especially given the softer string is in the cross.

For a poly/multi hybrid, going with a round poly will be a better choice.

If you're coming from using multi fb, then string crosses at same tension and maybe 2-3 lbs less on mains.

The choice of Hyper G 17 mains and NXT Power 16 crosses is DOA. You want mains to be stiffer than the crosses at whatever tensions you decide to use. The cross should be smooth and round. Swapping the Hyper G to the cross is not a good idea either since the NXT will quickly notch as it rides the ridges of the Hyper G. Pros can get away with soft mains and hard crosses, but they expect to change the strings every 8 hours. I suspect you do not want to change evry 8 hours.
