Best racquet for left hander

A left-handed racquet??? Sorry, no experience in this but would imagine that there would be no difference and a southpaw should be able to use any racuqet as the construction is symmetrical.

 Uh...in addition, what's the best racquet for someone with a size 10 foot?

Sorry, but I couldn't resist. ;) LOL.

Avoid those left-handed racquets. Most stringers don't have the knowledge or equipment to restring them.

I'm a left hander and the only advice I can give it to make sure whichever racquet you play with...put it in your left hand. It so much harder to play right-handed for us. :D

"Do everything backwards..."

According to the BBCSports link, the grips shown should be done backwards if you're a lefty. As a lefty i find this advice a bit suspect; after trying it out for a couple of matches, i realized that tennis is much harder if you hold your racquet from the top of the frame, rather than on the handle.

Sigh...what's a lefty to do?:D

I dont know why do all the sites have it explained for righties. US LEFTY'S SHOULD REBEL

Don't worry Greg.
I'm lefty and we have a lot of advantages.
One of the most important is that your forehand shot (assuming your best side) flies to the backhand side of a "righty" (his weaker side and most of the players) in a cross court shot (a safe because it has the longest distance). Also you can open the court with this kind of shot and attack the net.
But, what is the relation of this explanation with a racquet?
Easy, look for those racquets that let you exploit this kinds of shots, specially control-oriented sticks.

I think it's more that the trajectory of the ball is different, as are the spins. All the court placement/opponent placement ideas are the same for us rightys to you lefties, except you can receive crucial points (on the ad court) with your forehand out wide.

it sure came out funny but i think i knew what he meant.

i.e. what racquet can take advantage of lefty advantage most?

and lefty advantage is different spin (so you might want to accentuate it) and hitting forehand naturally to opponents backhand (righty can do the same but they are used to playing righties so they will naturally hit more to lefty forehand).

so, i'd agree that spin and control are what you want.

I'll take a racquet that put's more spin on your grandstrokes so you can take advantage from that and also a racquet that is good for slice serves. Maybe Babolat Aeropro Drive.

i've got a very good left handed racket for you. I'm left handed myself greg.

i have this old racket, which is specifiacally bent and warped in places from where i carefully moulded it by applying force to specific areas by hammering it against the ground. the result is a racket that is ideal for left handers. It's a very rare racket and i'd be happy to sell it to you for a very nice bargain

Jonny, you're a leftie (southpaw) as well? I saw a documentary on Scotland that said that Scots have a higher incidence of left-handedness than any where else.

Maybe i know a few lefty's infact best friend is a lefty aswell

I play guitar, a left handed guitar has to be strung backwards. I think you need to string your racquet backwards too. :)
