Best Round Strings for Spin Potential

I have been using a modified Gravity Pro 2023 and not quite finding the right string. I am looking for the most predictable round string with a high spin potential. Does anyone have any suggestions of good round strings for this frame? So far, my best match has been Luxilon 4G Soft or Alu Power 1.20 but still not satisfied. Thanks!

Give Head Hawk Touch a try. probably my favorite poly to this point. It is fairly stiff and one of the hardest to string, but consistent from the time it came off the stringer through cutting it out. I found it to have great spin potential and it did not hurt my arm.

I have several more polys in queue to try, but strongly considering purchasing a reel when the time comes to buy more string.

Thanks for all the great suggestions! Has anyone used the Gravity Pro and would know if using a 1.20 gauge would cost me too much control?

Didn't you try Alu 1.20? More player than racquet dependent imo.
Probably ok for most, just dies more quickly than the thicker gauge.

Does Revolve have good enough tension maintenance to last long enough with the gut?
I'd say above average but go 4g cross or hawk rough or similar if that's your main concern.

Yes, Alu 1.20 was fine but Alu always feels very different to most other poly strings to me anyways. Do they still make hawk rough?

Oh no. I am sorry I misread. I was thinking full bed based on your feedback for a lot of spin.

For gut poly hybrid there are a lot better strings for crosses than revolve. Sorry about that.

I hope so! I tried Hawk Touch as per @Cowboy and with just a little more bite I think it would be perfect.

I'll take that "close to perfect" rating as a good suggestion. I'm curious to hear your thoughts on how it compares to Alu Power and 4g. I've used 4g in the mains for many hybrids, and I have a pack of Alu Power 1.25 that I'm going to try in a full bed soon.

The best action I get on the ball is probably Natural gut with alu power rough. The dropoff in playability is gradual and slow as well.

Other round polys I have used with gut mains are ghostwire, sync, and alu power. They were all good. Sync gives the bed a slight deadness, ghostwire was the most rocket like, and alu gave the best feel, although the GW had good feel too.

RPM rough saws through gut mains in a few hours. This doesn't happen for me with alu rough.

The smooth polys seem to get sticky? for lack of a better word after several hours.

Full bed Regular alu power is long anime sequence ridiculous magical good the first time you use it, especially at lower tensions. But it gets somewhat launchy after that.

I got to try Alu Power 1.25 full bed at 50 and it is awesome but still a little launchy. Anyone have any experience with Alu 1.30? Otherwise I think I’ll try the hybrids.

I would look into pairing VS Touch or Lux Gut in the mains with Wasabi-X in the crosses. Should give you a stupid amount of spin, and snapback should last fairly consistently, as Was-X is arguably the most permanently-slick round poly out there (that isn't reliant on a coating, which will usually wear off in pretty short order — examples: RPM, RPM Rough, G-Tour, YPT Fire, etc).

But fire is silicone infused I think...

True. I do notice it wears down in slickness a bit, though. On the plus side, Fire seems to firm up as it dies, which helps to control any would-be increasing launchy-ness of the gut as it ages, providing somewhat of an interesting counterbalance. An interesting combo worth trying, if you haven't.

not really round, but would try RPM blast rough.
hybrid gut try a rough string in the crosses (like Fed). they slide well
if wanting round only, i like Yonex PTP or PTF.

Yeah I didn’t love wasabi mains, it gets a little erratic/launchy in my opinion. It isn’t the worst, but there’s better main strings out there
