Everyone always says Pete Samparas has the best running forehand DTL. I would argue Rafa's is pretty good as well. I didn't watch enough of Sampras to say. Would you say Sampras is better than Nadal at they type of shot?

I think Sampras. It was harder back then as well with smaller/faster balls, faster surface and no poly strings. And he made look easy.

sampras, fed, nadal, lendl all on the short list.

I'd say Federer has the best DTL forehand overall. Nadal better at kind of scooping out those deep balls for winners but day in day out peak Federer's DTL forehand was godly and he painted the lines all the time. In terms of on the run? Maybe Sampras just cause he went for the most. Federer hit some nasty on the run forehand DTL winners too and was definitely more consistent with the shot than Sampras ever could be. Nadal stretched can hit some crazy winners DTL too but prefers mostly to just roll it back cross court. Lendl is up there too as he was precise and consistent but those other guys were better athletes and quicker.

I don't think so. I'd argue his running cross court is one of the best. But his running forehand DTL isn't better than nadals in my opinion.
Nah watch peak Fed. DTL forehand is arguably the most difficult and important shot because of how tough it is to pull off. And in terms of going consistently DTL on a dime, no one was better than peak fed. He'd get into Fh-FH rallies consistently and just on a dime go up the line and make the opponent look foolish. No one was better at it. Running cross court, Federer's was amazing but other guys are up there too.

I mean on the full run, Nadal and Fed are maybe the same, Nadal can even hit some more ridiculous shots because of his athleticism but you can't use those rare cases which happen a couple times a match at most to make any kind of judgement.

That's because you only remember the one's Nadal gets in. Nadal just goes for those as hail mary's. And when they get in they look spectacular. With Fed it's actually a calculated more successful shot on average.

Fed's FH DTL is definitely better than Nadal's overall, but on the run, I'd clearly take nadal

Well obviously RAFA has the best Forehand DTL. RAFA's Forehand DTL will win him the Double Career Slam and will crown him the GOAT. RAFA has had the best preparation ever this year at IPTL, Doha, and Abu Dhabi, which means he will be confident. And a confident RAFA with his Forehand DTL working is unstoppable, hence his 9-4 and 9-2 slam h2hs agains Federer and Djokovic. Despite having a poor 2015, it was a great learning experience for RAFA, the best student of the game and he will come back in 2016 with the aura of the Double Career Slam.
PETE on the other hand has the GOAT running forehand. As I've said before in a previous thread, his running forehand alone made all his rivals look like MUGS. He absolutely DOMINATED his rivals with that shot and kept them all at bay, something that Fed obviously couldn't do. ROFLMAO
So I can't really choose between the two tbh.

Eh, tough call. Pete had one of the GREAT running forehands - and that was when he was playing in an era of greats, not against the CLOWNS of the 21st Century.
But RAFA's Forehand DTL is the scariest shot in tennis.
That's why RAFA has won 15 of his last 16 Slam meetings with Djokovic/Federer/Murray

If its a running DTL shot its probably a do or die high risk shot that will most likely end the point in that exchange or be a winner. Everything is relative but since Nadal gets to everything his may not look as great as others.
