Best shoe for narrow feet & comfort?

I've previously had plantar fasciitis, which took a few months to get over and resulted in me getting insoles for all my footwear. I've currently got the BIII, but found not enough space, feet squeezed on top, to fit an insole. I do find them comfortable, but I think I can do with more lateral support, especially at the heel as I've started to get pain again. A shoe maker once told me I've got expensive feet ('cos have long and narrow feet, and classically people would have shoes made for them to fit properly). It's also important to have very good cushioning at the heel. Please list any recommendations.

Until recently all I could find to fit my narrow feet were New Balance, first the 800B and then the 801B (both of which I liked very much but which are now discontinued, though still available some places on the web). However, I recently tried the Air Zoom Breathe Free, and they feel even better. Very comfortable, low to ground, solid and stable feel. Good cushioning in the heel. They too have been discontinued, but are still around (particularly if you are willing to wear the hideous blue). Note, the "new" version of the Breathe Free, the Air Max Breathe Free II, feel much wider to me and less solid.

However, if you have to insert an insole into the Air Zoom BT, you may not have room. They fit pretty snugly in the forefoot area.

You might also try the Adidas a3. The only thing I didn't like about them was that one of my feet kept slipping at the heel. I believe that New Balance also makes the 652 and 752 in a B width, although they are not available at TW. I've never tried either of them.
