I've been struggling this year with some knee stiffness and ankle soreness. My current shoes are starting to fall apart so I'm thinking of getting some new ones. Any recommendations on some good tennis shoes? Thanks.

What exactly is knee stiffness?? Can't move your knees well?? You could use a diagnosis -- is it arthritis, is it a patella problem, is it a neuromuscular issue, .......

(you're in Rochester, Minnesota.....medical help shouldn't be hard to find)

HOKA ONE ONE but not to play tennis in... for tennis, stick with something with a lot of everything - i.e. Adidas Barricade.

Cushioning is probably what you are looking for, so Yonex shoes are the most cushiony.
Lots of player's remove the stock insoles and add gel or other cushion insoles.

There are many threads here on knee issues, pain or injury. In particular, search patellofemoral pain

I believe that this issue, short rectus femorus, a quad muscle cause pain under my knee caps. Patellofemoral pain can be related to this very common posture issue.

Some stretches of this area might cause back problems to some people.

I believe that cartilage as it is damaged may not give much pain until damage has progressed to more serious arthritis. Check my facts but I believe that it's because cartilage does not have many/any nerves.
Posture issues can wear on your joints for years especially if your play tennis.

Best to have your posture evaluated by a Dr.

Here is a site with posture information. Short rectus femorus muscles contribute to the posture issue of anterior pelvic tilt. A greater percentage of older people have anterior pelvic tilt and think it's aging. It's probably years of sitting and shortened rectus femorus muscles. The RF muscle is special because it is the only quad that attaches above the hip joint.

About 15 years ago my knees would ache after I sat down for 30 minutes or so. I thought I was getting old and that how it was going to be. That is gone and I believe that my rectus femorus muscles were tight.

Also, Google for pictures of knee pain and locate exactly where the pain or stiffness is.
