I mean 5 all star type players in the same team, not 2 or 3.

LA Lakers 80´s with Johnson,Nixon,Wilkes,Jabbar and Mc Adoo

Boston 80´s with Archibald,Ainge,Bird,Mc Hale and Parish

Philadelphia 80´s with Cheeks,Toney,Erving,Cureton and Malone

New York 70´s with Monroe,Frazier,Bradley,De Buscheere and Reed

That be my pick but there were also the 70´s Lakers and Bucks

Have to say something for the way the 71-72 Lakers dismantled their opposition during the record 33-game win streak (average win margin in the mid-teens despite playing four different back-to-back-to-back nights during the streak).
Oddly enough, it was addition by subtraction bcoz the streak started soon after HOFer Elgin Baylor retired less than a month into the season. This made the starting lineup look like this:

PG: Jerry West
SG: Gail Goodrich
SF: Jim McMillan
PF: Happy Hairston
C: Wilt Chamberlain

PF - Isaiah Lord Thomas III
SG - Michael Jeffrey Jordan
SF - Larry Joe Bird
PF - Timothy Theodore Duncan
C - Earvin ''Magic'' Johnson Jr. (can play all 5 positions, now that is
versatility unmatched; LBJ is the new improved version, yeah?)

You want an all-star team? First off, Oscar Palmer Robertson replaces Thomas at PG and Bill Russell plays C with versatile EMJ/LBJ coming in off the bench as the best 6th/7th man tandem in history.

A few more greats ones:

Thomas,Dumars,Tripucka/Aguirre,Carr/Mahorn,Laimbeer
Moore,Gervin,Banks,Mitchell,Gilmore
Porter,Drexler,Kersey,Robinson and Bowie or Duckworth
Rivers,Drew,Wilkins,Roundfield,Rollins
LLoyd,Wiggins,Mc Cray,Sampson and Olajuwon

and of course, the great NC team of Braddock,Jordan,Perkins,Daugherty and James Worthy

That is my first five! Everyone is expendable but Tim Duncan, TD is The Best Ever Power Forward, none before him...will have to see in the future!

KMH is the most underrated of the true all time greats

The way he owned the postion and his untangibles are just insane

Remember the way Lucas and Walton won that 77 title at Portland?
Great team work, with Lucas doing the dirty job and Big red making the difference with his top notch class at clutch times.

There were a few ones that have gone through decades. The Lakers/Celtics rivalry set up the NBA for good, even if I was a die hard 76 rs fan.the contribution of Dr Julius Erving to the growth of this sport is huge, yet he seems so much overviewed.Just before MJ, he was the man that even rival teams respected a lot.

Current? Despite their recent struggles, it's got to be Hill, Stephenson, George, West, and Hibbert of the Pacers. The bench contributes very little, and they're still up there with the Heat.

Replace Tiny Archibald with Dennis Johnson on the Celtics-I enjoyed that group. It's too bad B. Walton had all those injuries-I'll bet he could have done some real amazing things....

Yeah, DJ was missing in the list.

They did the twin towers thing with Walton and Parish from time to time.

I really followed the NBA during the 80s, so those Boston & LA teams were awesome. I'm from Indiana, so you know the Boston team was my favorite, but I begrudgingly respected the Lakers. I remember seeing those Piston teams in person (big Isaiah (sp) fan then) & thinking "what an impressive physical specimen Dominic Wilkins was"; but MJ was by far the best I ever saw, if the Bulls needed a rebound, steal, assist, and of course shot, he got it.

No doubt he is the best of all the best

what about the run&gun team of 80´s Nuggets: the Englishman, Dan Issel,Kiki Vandenveghe and, of course, the fat Lever.Doug Moe just broke his *** laughing day in day off.

Not the best team, but few had more sound fundmentals and game knowledge than the slow legged Bucks of the early 80:
Junior Bridgeman,Sid Moncrief,Marques Johnson,Terry Cummings and Bob Lanier. If there had been no Sixers, no doubt I´d have always rooted for them. And Lenny was one of the best ever NBA coaches.
