Federer was the best at containing Djokovic in both his GOAT streaks.

7 wins and 15 losses. But 1-6 in slams and 2-9 in finals.
The old man did what he could. Not his fault that players from Djoko's own generation didn't step up.

Yeah Nole's generation is well known for being weak:

players born in 1985-88: 39 slam titles, 72 finals, 127 semifinals

''Old man'' 3 years later won 3 slams and had his best results against the players who beat his ass as teenagers during his ''peak''.

All the the cherry picking bs stats that you can conjure up won't give Djokovic enough slams to be GOAT. He shouldn't have been getting beat in slam finals by NON members of the big 3.

He just lost 2 finals to Murray and 2 to Wawrinka, who are far from being simple ''non big3''. Especially Murray.

Unluckily he played 78.3% of his slam finals against ATGs, to Federer's 57.7%.

Why do you insist on overrating Murray all the time? In terms of level he's the Andy Roddick of this era. In terms of achievements he's barely above Hewitt.

Well i don't obviously, as i think Novak deserves some respect for his achievements!
Nah. He gets enough respect from the media and guys like Lew who are obsessed. I like MichaelNadal becaue he isn't afraid to speak his mind and doesn't beat around the bush. He tells it like he feels it.

Also he likes Dragon Ball and any guy that enjoys that anime/manga gets a huge plus in my book.

Which players beat his ass as teenagers? Aside from Nadal on clay? (Which were never beat downs anyway aside from 2008 RG)

This stat doesn’t mean much to Fed as he’s from a different generation. But worth noting wasn’t he like 18-0 vs top 10 in 2004? And has the longest streaks ever on grass and HC. Your stats are basically just “best winning % over a random group of players over an arbitrary time period”.

3 slam finals vs old Federer. About the same level as Hewitt, Roddick, Safin despite the first guy being an ATG.

Oh wait, your 78.3% has Murray and Wawrinka as ATG.

No Wawrinka is not an ATG (despite he had 4 years at ATG level).

Where is the difference in level? They play almost exactly the same.

Neither is Murray. No amount of masters titles will elevate him above Roddick/Hewitt for peak play. They were all basically the same peak for peak at GS except Murray didn’t have to face peak Fed.

Eyes, match stats, the fact Hewitt actually won a set and was a point away from winning another...

In Federer's peak big 4 weren't even a concept. How unfortunate that in 2005-2006 Roger couldn't meet Nadal in his 2015 form at RG, and have Murray and the 34 year old himself (playing as they did against Djokovic in their respective Slam meetings) as the strongest opponents at the other 3 Slams. That would be some winning streak I bet. Same for Nadal in his W 2011-AO 2012 period.

AO 2016:

Simon 2 sets won against Djokovic.
Federer + Murray + Nishikori: 1

Federer + Murray + Nishikori < Simon

Anyway you could even be right for one match, who knows, it can't be proved. What I want to prove is Murray is ten times the player Hewitt was.

Good for him. He was also losing in slams to Nishikori LOL and Wawrinka who took him to SCHOOL at RG.

Winning 6 slams out of 8 beating 10 times the three best players of the 2000s still looks better than any kind of peak Federer ever reached.

Murray is hardly better than Hewitt at all lol. He is like 1.3x better than Hewitt. What is with you and overrating Murray? Do you have a crush on him or something?

Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic are the three best players of the 2000's. Not Murray you fool. Even die-hard Murray fans acknowledge this.
He honestly thinks Murray is 10 times the player Hewitt was lol. What am I reading?

Murray is better, but they are very comparable when looking at the different eras.
Not by 10x though. I even said he's perhaps like 1.3-1.5x better than Hewitt. But it isn't by a massive margin and a lot of it isn't due to level of play, it's due to longevity.

Level of play wise they are pretty comparable.

Could he beat himself?

Three best players OTHER THAN HIMSELF.

Not in slam finals vs Djokovic and you know that. All the bs streaks and h2h you post are shot down by the existence of Wawrinka. Accept it. Kept him from winning AO too in 2014.
Have him play 9 slam finals/semis against Djokovic first.

Anyway, a certain match up doesn't mean Wawrinka is tougher to beat than Murray.
