@Casper777:
Percept 100D:
- Flex: medium-firm
- Pattern: fairly dense (produces medium-high DT-per-unit-tension)
- Feel: mostly muted (compare any Percept to a Yonex from 10+ years ago and tell me otherwise)
- Power-to-Spec Ratio: medium/medium-low
All of that factored in, here are the string qualities I would think you would want:
- Gauge: on the thinner side, to open up the pattern
- Spin Potential: high -- high S-to-B and low S-to-S friction
- Power: at least some pop (ie. prob not a good idea to do something like full-bed 4G/4GS, Hawk, Max Power, etc.)
- Feel: as crisp as possible, to drive max feel through to the handle
All of that factored in, here's the kind of stuff I'd be looking at:
- Shaped Poly: PT Rev 1.20, Pure Rush 1.18 or 1.23, Pro X 1.15 or 1.20
- Round Poly: MSV Co-Focus Silver 1.18 or 1.23, Diadem Flash Navy 1.15 or 1.20
- Multiester: Triax 1.28, HDMX 1.25, Rexis Speed 1.25
- Multi: Multifeel Black 1.25, Micronite 1.25
- Syn Gut: OGSM 1.20 or 1.25, AK Pro CX 1.25, PSGD/LightningXX 1.25
- Gut: Lux or VS, 1.25
Main strategy would be to string as
low in tension as you can till control, to open up the sweet spot as much as possible.
Do all of that, and you'll make the 100D as playable as it can be, I would think.
Hope that helps!
