I notice that in a lot of topics players are asking which string is the best for the new generation Pro Staff rackets. Maybe we can all post our favorite string setup in this topic and share some thoughts. I have the normal Pro Staff 97 and tried a few strings. But I am still not happy and continue my search.

I strung every racket at 23 kg or 51 lbs. Kirschbaum Pro Line 2 red was for me not powerful enough but comfortable on the arm. It played better in my old Pure Drive. Wilson Ripspin white was great for open patterns and the newer spin frames but felt like a board in my racket. Before I never had problems but now my elbow is starting to hurt a bit. Kirschbaum Max Power felt crisp and good but I missed something on my serves. I think it's just a random string. I tried Luxilon Savage black and white which I used in my Juice for 3 years. The comfort was great but i broke this string in 45 minutes. The power level of the Savage in this control racket was low. I had trouble keeping the ball deep and i am a hard hitter. Also Babolat Hurricane, RPM Blast and both Tecnifibre Black and Red Code were not convincing.

I now am going to try Luxilon Alu Power. I still have 2 reels left and I have my own stringing machine so i can afford it. Other future options are Luxion 4G and Prince Beast. I never played with them before. Any tips?

Which gauge of Kirschbaum PL II did you play? Try going up one gauge/thinner, it may just add the power you found to be lacking initially. Tourna Black Zone is another poly you should try IMO. Nice soft feel and good power, but a very predictable response. If all else fails, try Polystar Energy, which is the most powerful poly I know of.

If you cannot achieve enough power/depth with polys, you should consider a poly/syngut hybrid.

I used Kirschbaum PL II red 1.25 and Kirschbaum PL II black 1.30.

VS Touch Black 16 mains, Tour Bite 18 crosses, both at 52#.

How long that combination lasts to you? I tried once Tour Bite as a cross string, but its sharp edges were pretty nasty to multifilament mains (Prince Premier Attack).

Well, since Fed had a hand in creating this racket why not use the strings he prefers. 16g gut in the mains and 16L ALU Power Rough in the cross. Tension right around 26 kilos.

I've had the racket for 2 weeks, hitting every day for at least an hour, usually 2 hours, and I haven't even seen a hint of notching.

I found the stock string dead , just ordered a set of vs touch , should be strung by the weekend ,will post results

Give the 1.20 and/or the 1.15 versions a try. These are much softer and more explosive (also more spin friendly) than the thicker gauges IME.

But I am a hard hitter and frequent string breaker so I need 1.25 or 1.30.
