"Best" tennis bag (6-9raqs)

i guess cuz i'm no longer 20 years old, i don't see the point of needing that many racquets for your local open tournament.

Stringing is available on site, and at most you play 2 matches in a day so plenty of re-string time.

Technifibre ATP Pro bag.

I have the monster 15, only carry 4-5 rackets (yes, more than I need).

Great size bag for carrying all the gear and well organized as well as tough with very nice zippers.

Abiit more spendy than most others, but worth it IMO.

Looking for a decent tourney bag. Any suggestions?

I'm liking the new Wilson Tour bags because of the hard moulded sides. Makes it more rigid and makes it much easier to put in / take out racquets and other gear. Racquets also fit a bit better due to the stiffer sides as the bag doesn't collapse onto itself.

Or this one: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Head_Original_Series_Tennis_Bags/descpageBGHEAD-HOS6.html. I really want to get this bag, but already have a Head 6-pack. Maybe I'll get this soon anyway.

Great price on this: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Head_Elite_Series_Bags_BlackRed/descpageBGHEAD-HESB149.html

Or one of these: http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Wilson_Team_Bags_Black_SIlver/descpageBGWILSON-WTBSB.html. Yeah I could do this for a while.

I always have my racquet brand match my bag though. What racquets do you use?

This is what I have except I own the 10 bag version. It is an awesome, very well-made and good-looking bag.

I bring 2-3 sticks max. But clothes, towel, food..drink..shoes.

Also some tournies here are 3 matches in a day at times due to weather and other odd reasons.

I dunno, I guess I just sweat a lot.

But I love the Wilson bags a lot. Had mine 2 years now. I use the 9 size.

Although I agree largely with what you are saying. But I have been caught with my pants down with bringing just 2 racquets. Like maybe I needed some Gatorade. Extra shirt. At one tourney, the weather was so hot, the out sole came apart. So preparation is king.

By the way I don't actual have 9 racquets of anything. Max 3. Thats the max set of strings I have snapped at one match. Rest is just for crap.

I use a Dunlop AeroGel 4D racquet bag. I looked at a lot of them that were not as nice or sturdy as this one. Not as big as some of the others either. Perfect size for me. I needed more middle room space for toting around the shoes, clothing, etc. for playing in the indoor courts in the winter months.

I really like my Prince Tour bag. Not sure of the specific model, but it is classic Prince green. Got mine by chance at a local shop. It was actually a pro tour bag they sent to the shop by mistake. Also has the built-in cooler-- a feature that I love in the summer.

If I was in the market for a new bag I think the following would be my short list to choose from, note that I swing Volkl sticks and don't even have their bags on my list.

Adidas Barricade III Tour 6 Pack - I like the colors, the fact that it's not associated with any racket brand, and the small lined pouch for cell phone, keys, wallet.

Babolat Aero - I've seen several of these on the courts and I'm always impressed with the apparent quality, the "Team" line isn't bad but the "Aero" line is more impressive.

Technifibre - friend had one a while back and I was impressed with it.

Pacific BX2 line

I have not been impressed by Dunlop bags, I wouldn't get one even if I swung their rackets.

I am surprised more brands do not include this feature. What a great option to have.

Add easily accessible cell phone pocket and separate wallet/keys pocket as well. I love that on my wilson bags.

I know the Themal lining works because my water stays a lot cooler then without, so I like that.

But yeah, it seems like each company does 1 or 2 cool things but not everything in one bag.

These tecnifibre bags are great all the way down the product line to the backpack. Would recommend this especially if you live in a wet climate

Wilson Super-Six Tour Pro is the best bag in terms of quality/usability

I bought a Dunlop bag two years ago. I looked at about three dozen bags before deciding on this one. Either they were too big, too small, or didn't have a big enough middle compartment for all my shoes and clothing. Two side zipper compartments on the outside and two small inner compartments for keys, locks, etc. This one is thermal lined and has a water bottle holder insert at the end of the bag. Plenty of handles to pick it up from the end, middle, or the backpack straps as well. So far I am very happy with it. Dunlop Aerogel 4D 10 racquet bag. I used to carry about 6 racquets with me. That is why I needed such a bigger bag. Now I usually carry only about three or so.

nike court tech 1 backpack. holds 6-8 rackets well and everything else. most tennis bags have the shoulder straps and backpack straps... the nike is very much a back pack and still hold it all.

I'm loving my Babolat Pure 6 pack bag. Has everything I need and since I only carry 3 rackets, they all fit comfortably in the thermal compartment. The other side is big enough for all my other stuff and I love the vented separate compartment for shoes/sweaty shirts.

Do the backpack straps get in the way on the pure bag? I notice that the straps are on the same side as the racquet opening.

+1 on the Nike Court Tech bag. Best bag i have ever used. Too bad they are discontinuing the line. Pick one up before they are all gone. I would buy one as a backup if I had somewhere to store it.

If you're in the mood for something impressionable you could try One Strings:

Honestly, 9/10 tennis bags blow and none of the large manufacturers of luggage seem to really care about tennis, like they do Golf

Don't think anyone actually brings that many racquets. The only people that do are either posers or professional players. The most I've ever finding myself needing for a day was 3, and that was mostly pure chance. A lot of people use 6-9 racquet bags because you can fit 3 racquets along with your shoes, water, change of clothes, etc very easily and not have it be absolutely massive and dumb looking like the 12 pack bags.

I usually have 4 rackets, two at each tension but I use a thin multifilament so break strings easily.

+2 yes..definitely the best bag I've ever used well. I've had the Babolat hard shell bags and Wilson bags..Nike bag wins hands down. I've seen them at Nike outlets and clearance stores for $50. I was lucky to get one for a spare. I've had my first one for 3yrs now..and still holding up very well.

+3 I get laughed at everytime I bring it on court ("Is that thing even legal size as checked baggage"), but it's a fantastic bag.

Having a bag with hard frame (instead of a soft bag where the racquets provide the frame) makes this thing so much more comfortable to carry (despite it's size). And it holds everything.

I also bought a spare. Got mine on the auction site. Seems some guy ran into your outlet store deal and decided to make some money. Tag said he paid $40. I paid $80.

Ditto. Add to this that you can find these bags for 50 bucks they are an outstanding deal.

I had one of these and there is a lot of wasted space in these bags due to the vertical set up IMO. If you fill the space up when the bad is horizontal you can't find anything in any of the compartments when it's vertical - it all settles down to the bottom.

I don´t know what´s your badget and your tennis racket. But I am definately in love with this tennis bag http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/Dunlop_Performance_Tennis_Bags_Blue/descpageBGDUNLOP-DPERFBL8.html

I must recognise that I use this kind of racket (Dunlop Biomimetic 200) but... it´s amazing!!

It is a nice bag but that is deceptive calling it climate control when only one side of the bag has the thermal protection. Both sides has to have it otherwise it isn't insulated. This is just this bag but even the Babolat Wimbledon bag with the so called isothermal for drinks.

I had the Yonex Pro Bag in black/white/gold. Although it looked very nice, the zips were really bad quality. It's the 3rd Yonex bag I've had where at least one zip has packed up within 6 months. My advice would be to avoid any Yonex bags.

Just ordered the Babolat Pure Roland Garros 12 2017 version. Hopefully I'll have better luck with that.

How so? Not challenging you, genuinely curious. Would seem to me if the one half has the thermal it would do the trick, no?

I've owned Wilson bags, Prince bags, & Babolat bags. For the size and compartments, I can get more in a 6 pack Babolat bag and keep it better organized than I can in either a 12 pack bag from the other companies. The quality of the build is equivalent; zippers, looks, etc.

Any bag with 3 (three) large compartments, but not too big/wide (W under 11inch)?
I'm carrying 3-4 racqs, but also other stuff, in them (shirts, etc)

Actually I’m sick of the bags on offer the last few years. On my next visit to Thailand I’m getting one custom made. The bags today are nothing more than advertising for the various manufacturers - actual use for travel on airplanes is an afterthought.

I have a Wilson 15 pack from like 3 or 4 years ago that I use. I usually only carry two rackets in the one outer pocket. I carry hats, towels, extra shoes, water, and stuff in the middle section. The last outer section is usually empty for regular league matches but during the winter I carry extra clothes like a jacket, or pants, and at tournaments I carry a jump rope, foam roller, and a change of clean clothes. For me personally the massive bag is about being able to carry all the extraneous stuff not just rackets. The extra space helps when people drop their rackets to me at the court as well.

I am just trying to understand why a larger bag crosses into "dumb" and "massive" land, and why that makes someone a poseur? Some people prefer having a lot of space instead of cramming. Sometimes the smaller bags, after you put in a few rackets, sweat bands, hat, towel, ankle brace, can or 2 of balls, shoes, tape, Advil, band aids, etc, can feel like you're digging through a junk drawer trying to find what you need. Just never understood this attitude that surfaces once your bag crosses a certain size threshold.
