junkiedoodoobrain now trying to argue David Ferrer as the highest quality non slam winner or maybe even 1- slam winner, LMFAO!!!!! Now I have heard it all. This site has turned into a parody at this point.

ferrer was an EXCELLENT 'gatekeeper' player--beat most of the guys he was supposed to, had a lot of success in lower tourneys, but just didn't have the weapons to hurt the best. fantastic career but lower ceiling than many on this list.

Using the UTS GOAT list (to the end of 2024?), it seems to be Roddick, Chang, Zverev, Medvedev, Ivanisevic. However after Roland Garros, I think Zverev would now be behind only A-Rod if the site was still updated.

On the Tennis 128 list, Roddick is just behind John Bromwich as the two highest-rated men. Sabatini by a distance is the most highly-rated one-slam woman.

Personally... of the men I've watched myself I think it'd be one of Stich, Ivanisevic, Roddick, or Del Potro, along with Tony Roche who hasn't been mentioned yet.

Of these I think Meddy edges Roddick . 5 slam runner up to rods 4.

Allowed Roddick to be considered by losing to him in the final of 2003 US Open.

Apparently the weather and some partisan scheduling helped Roddick, but it would've been tough for JCF anyway. Look at the highlights, Roddick was rolling through service games and belting everything. As I say I don't think Ferrero is the greatest single-slammer but he deserves a mention, he put himself in good positions to win a few more.
