Best tennis shoes for hard court?

What are some of the best shoes for a hard court?

I currently use the Nike Air Zoom Vapor Cage 4, but keep getting recommended the ASICS Court FF 3 shoes.

I still like your VC4 the most honestly. I still use them, they're almost indestructible and outlast every other kind of shoe I have

VC4 is already a great shoe in my opinion. I’ve enjoyed the Ultrashot line as well as the CT Rally/Fresh Foam LAV line. Just more stable, rugged shoes. The Blushield Torneo and the Lotto Raptor fit right there too but are a big harder to find most of the time. TW is usually on and off with stock of those.

I've seen the same ppl criticize Nike for keeping the VC4 around this long without updates...while also criticizing them for not keeping the Vapor 9.5 or Pro or Cage 2 in the lineup unchanged. @gino explain yourself lol

I think a lot of people just wanna see something new haha. It’s been a while. It was a good performer in the one pair I had. That was back in 2020! Valid point though. I don’t mind updates if they keep the same type of shoe or feeling in the shoe. I think that’s where the VP2 and maybe the Cage 3 differed. Hell, I would’ve loved if they kept the Air Max Cage forever, or a shoe just like it.

The Court FF3s are my go-to tennis shoes until they inevitably change them eventually. But you have to like a REALLY snug feel around your lower ankle area to enjoy them. I love that locked-in feeling, but I know many that say it's too much.

Court FF3 are kinda not ideal for playing on your toes, they feel best with whole foot planted, if you play on your heel a lot, throwing yourself to the corners, sliding etc

If you are a light and quick player, more explosive and attacking, and less defensive, they will feel wrong and slow

Except Djokovic, who plays his style of tennis with his style of footwork and movement, sliding with whole foot planted, on the heel a lot etc, practically nobody else is using them on tour. Many pros have tried and quickly changed from them, they've been on the market a long time now

Barricade is an allrounder kind of shoe that will keep your feet and joints healthy, I'd try that first. Stable but not heavy. But there are many other good shoes

Feel the same about the FF2

Why did you prefer them over the Court FFs?
Court FF3s didn’t fit my feet well in front as the toebox felt too big and they also felt very clunky. Also the shoe ripped near a shoelace hole on top fairly early and then I started getting sore feet/knees after about 40 hours. The back fitted well without any runner‘s knot needed to prevent heel slippage. The fit of shoes is very personal and what works for me may not work for you and vice versa.
