OOT was the first Zelda game I played
I wasn’t that big of a fan of OOT tbh
Prob one of my least favorite 3d Zeldas
I thought majoras mask was much better but OOT is still a solid game

So last night : just wanted to play only the desert dungeon and most people said it only takes 30 min
It was damn hard and confusing and I was baffled several times . Then dead at boss and had to restart . Well over 5 hrs later it was done lol

Yeah the desert one took me awhile too haha
I was stuck in like one or two rooms for so long

The swamp palace was easier and cooler
. Desert boss wasted me ...so I hid in corner and shot arrows rather than creating sand platforms because I did not want to start over .

Zelda games are combat easy but the dungeon puzzles I have to cheat because I don’t want to spend months in a dungeon

Back in the day, Wolfenstein, but when Doom came out it was a game changer, literally. Then the Quake engine right after and the battle was on. Was clanned up early and all the way through SOFII. Of course the MW series. Aside from that I loved Uncharted, and the last game I played a ton was Elder Scrolls. Haven’t played since then, so years.

Dark souls is insane !!!
The early bosses will cream most folks

It’s like jumping into 5.0 tennis when you’re only 4.0
Dark souls has a pretty steep learning curve but once you get used to it it’s incredible
Stay behind them and hit them in the ass

Oh yes, great topic!

For me, it has always been Metroid Prime. It is so immersive, no game has immersed me that much before. Everything in it is catered to that perfectly with the visual effects, ambient soundtrack and the feeling of solitude.

I don't think there is really a better way they could have made Metroid into 3D. Even some of the few issues people do seem to have are basically just design choices you either like or dislike (mostly the backtracking, which is inherent to Metroid's world and gameplay design). Also, early GameCube title playing at a perfect 60FPS and controls like butter as well imo. Just love it!

Another all-time favorite is certainly Diablo 2 and its expansion Lord of Destruction. Man, I've played that so much. I could still boot it up now and just play for a few hours. Also played through hell multiple times with a friend since he moved to Poland to live and work there, which was a great way to stay in touch with him.

Of course there are tons of other awesome games, but I'll keep it at this for now.
They recently reset the ladder so I'm giving hardcore another go. Have a javazon up to act 5 nightmare. Got some great item drops early on, but since then not so much.

Mostly soloing it, but I'm going to make use of trading and jsp to gear up for hell. For hardcore mode it's really the most difficult part, just gearing up for hell difficulty. The resistance penalty is absolutely bonkers so you really have to gear up with that in mind. There are a couple spots in the game that will just kill you if you're not prepared such as the souls in act 3. That's where one of my characters ripped. Died to souls from a full screen away....

Street Fighter 2 The World Warrior. Don’t know how many quarters i wasted on that game but when it came out it was something to behold.

A super complicated video game in the 1970s called Pong! It started out as a quarter slot machine that you sit down and move a joystick or wheel to deflect a ball.

Anybody have the Switch? Is it any good? Like Mario games, always have. Zelda?

I happen to have one. It's pretty sweet and I love that I can play it in many different ways. Portable, big screen, whatever. I like it. Some of its downsides are the battery life (when detached from the port) which is around 2 and 1/2 hours and the Nintendo Switch Online, which is a hot mess. The small buttons on the Joy-Cons could be an issue, but I've never had problems with them and you can get the Pro Controller which is amazing.

As for the games, there's obviously Breath of the Wild, which was definitely GOTY for 2017 and my second favorite Zelda to date. Mario Odyssey is great too; that's also worth playing, even if it is pretty easy. Then you have Smash Bros., Mario Kart, some others. Nintendo seems to have ported some other games from the Wii U because not a whole lot of people bought it.

Future releases that look good are Mario Maker 2 (if you ignore the many, many trolls that will haunt that game), Luigi's Mansion 3, Link's Awakening, Fire Emblem, Pokemon, and that Breath of the Wild sequel they just announced at E3.

Overall, pretty solid, I should say.

Gun Club VR.

I never touched a gun before, but this game is a harmless mega fun for learning how to use a gun. It's very realistic, from loading the ammo to pulling the trigger. You've got to be quick to score high and collect cash. You've got so many kinds of realistic gun models.

"He was always posting fun stuff on TTW, until one day his post got violent. He was obsessed with shooting guns. He loved the feel of the trigger. He went psycho, I saw this coming so I was not surprised."

Jk:p

I think all games should be played in 3D VR. It's more exciting and closer to reality. You have to move your arms, your head and your body to navigate and to aim. 2D games that are played with thumbs are so boring.

3D VR is also an excellent educational tool!

I watched an NHK documentary where a Japanese company has developed a VR system that can aid surgeons in operating theatres! It's amazing!

First time I've heard of AMC and The Void :p

So AMC is an American movie theatre chain, and The Void is their whole-body, fully immersive VR experience. Sounds a lot of fun!

I'm in Australia so I've heard they have a dedicated VR theatre in Melbourne. There is a VR Cinema in Gold Coast but I've never been there.

This is my first time trying VR technology, and so far PlayStation VR has been a blast. The other day I was diving deep into the ocean and one bloody big Great White Shark made a mess of my diving cage and tried to eat me before I was being pulled up LOOOOL it was damn scary and amazing at the same time. Uggghhh those teeth, I wouldn't want to be near that thing in real life!!!!

Yeah, it's the only VR I have ever done, but it's like several rooms and you walk around. I did a star wars one and it was a blast. Never done something that I was that amazed by (didn't realize VR was that real feeling).

There is nothing like a good Zelda game
The fantasy factor , mystique , music , atmosphere and complexity of dungeons . This is the Mozart/ Picasso of video games

Most consider the best Zelda :

A link between worlds or link to past ..
Ocrina of time
Wind waker
Links awakening
M. Mask- this is the hardest game of series ...never played it and never will

Links Awakening is bar none the best handheld game ever made. It puts most non handheld console games to shame.

That game is incredible

I saw that. I gotta say my first impression is not good. The cartoony cutesy art style bothers me a bit. Links Awakening was an ominous pretty creepy game. I can’t really say I understand the Fortnite graphics.
Yeah, they do this at times, not sure why. They used to do it with the N64 a lot too. They have good graphics then cheesy looking ones. Weird. Once was told it was to bring in a younger audience.

I actually really like the art style in general but I just don’t think it fits with the original at all. The music is also a lot less epic from what I’ve heard it all sounds so washed out. I really like how the FF7 remake looks but LA doesn’t look like it will tickle my fancy. I prefer the dark creepy original with the equally foreboding music.
