Astro Bot VR!!!
It's the cutest robots ever!!! It's so real in VR and you want to have these bots as cuddly pets! It's so great navigating them through 3D world. This 2D YouTube video doesn't do it justice!!!

When you rescue those bots they would fly and jump into your PS controller and vibrate. The PS controller would open it's top panel and those bits will jump inside it... It's so freaking awesome!!!!!!

Beat Saber VR!!!!!
Dancee with the music, feel the rhythm and slash those flying targets with your sabers!!! The feel is so real, your saber will vibrate when you slash a target and when your sabers touch each other!!! I feel like a Jedi now!!!!

I still like the Gun Club VR though. I'm gonna try the AK47!!!!!!

Micro transactions ruin many games for me.
Codemasters is trying to ruin F1 series with that as well, but they're only at the beginning. Nowadays FIFA series is all about ultimate team and this concept spread through other games like a cancer. Everything now is some kind of Battle Royale or multi-player based games.

I don't see any game with a storyline like the original Mafia in the near future.

Should I play FF8 9 or Chrono trigger next ?

I haven’t played any of them @-NN-

IX is the most underrated in the series. I think it’s top 3 in the series and I loved every minute of it. It’s long as hell though I think I put 50-60 hours into it and almost 100% it in one playthrough. I think it has the best story development of all the final fantasy’s tbh.

Chrono Trigger is much shorter like 15-20 to 100% it. But there’s also no slow parts to it either. There’s a fan made game I’m about to start that connects Trigger to cross and cross is also amazing so if you like Trigger you have 1-2 more games you might be interested in. The soundtrack is also top 5 for more me all time.

Basically it depends if you want a longer game that’s a storytelling masterpiece or an epic shorter game that’s mentioned as the goat rpg more often than any other game. I’d play both they’re both worth it.

FF VIII sucks donkey balls. Besides XV and the MMOs it’s the only FF I’ve never beaten. It’s just awful. Squall is an emotional crybaby and the WOAT male lead in a rpg. The battle system is trash. The game should be banned for being horrible.

How about Chrono Cross?

Anyway, of those 3 I'd pick FF9, or Chrono Trigger.

I'll throw in two wild cards for you: Suikoden and Suikoden 2.

I will play through FF8 again like I said, but at the same time am not exactly looking forward to it. I just wanna see if it fails in the same manner it did all those years ago.

About FF9. Its pacing is excellent and there's nothing really wrong with the game. I just find it to be somehow vanilla and less distinctive than every FF game since 7. It is great tho. 8 has heaps of interesting design, possibly the best music, and horrid pacing.

Kids these days can't stay interested in a storyline for long enough.

:DYou're too right there!

I can't stand long story audio or dialogue that precede a game. I just can't wait too long and I just want to start shooting something LOL:laughing:

I was playing Borderlands 2 and gaaah I had to wait forever just before I can start shooting something LOL. The graphics were awesome but I just cant stand holding my controller and doing nothing but just watch a little movie. I just want to plaaaaaaaay, I'm not reading a book or watching a movie!

Not sure how true this is. Narrative driven games are being produced more than ever. Perhaps in ratio it's less because of the immense amount of sparrow-span mobile games being released, but gaming has moved on a long way from the days of the arcade and is now a serious storytelling medium. People now expect storylines with their games even with an upcoming release such as Streets of Rage 4. I think the point is that the spectrum for experiences through gaming is 100x broader than it was 30 years ago.

Not so sure I buy into that, but I could be way off. I just think social media has bred a more involved multiplayer and social driven platform. Then again, the last Star Wars game I played was one of the best stories for a game I had seen. Almost like it's own made up movie.

Has anyone played the new top spin? I had Top Spin 4 on XBox360 and it was the best tennis game ever (beside Mario Tennis duh).

The new one looks worst then the old top spin from like 2011.

Just finished Ao No Kiseki. I think I’ve played almost every GOAT contending rpg besides Legend of Dragoon and Xenogears. Ao is the GOAT no contest. If you like jrpgs legend of heroes series is a must play and the two crossbell games (zero and Ao) are the best.

'Ever' is hard to answer. Games that are ingrained in me are things like Zelda LTTP, the original DOOM, Thunder Force 4, Secret of Mana, Dynamite Headdy, Shining Force 2, Final Fantasy 7 / X, Guardian Heroes, Exhumed (Power Slave in US), Phantasy Star Online, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2, Streets of Rage Remake... Oh and my favourite party game is Death Tank Zwei, a mini game unlockable on the Saturn version of Duke Nukem 3D (also a great game) if you have a Quake (cool game) or Exhumed save file (not sure if only PAL).

A recent game that I'd put up there would be Hollow Knight. It's absolutely masterful. The sequel was revealed earlier this year and I can't wait.

Started a new universe in title bout boxing. Eliminated all the junior and super weights apart from junior welterweight and super middleweight.

Hagler vs Golovkin is the fight everybody wants.

I'm at Wutai and am wondering
why my materia hasn't been stolen by Yuffie, and then realised I never picked her up in my party.
Recently learned that there's a skip that lets you go straight from tifa's bar to the wall market. Skips the 2nd reactor + airbuster and the little aeris segment completely.

I sometimes fall asleep to calebhart speedrunning that game. Somewhat related note, I really like ffix speedruns also, but I wasn't a big fan of the game as a kid.

Yeh I caught a bit of calebhart yesterday but then stopped watching because it was spoiling some of the game for me as it's a 100% run (I never 100% the game).

I don't really like FF any% speedruns though. For speedruns I go to games like Celeste, SM64 - skill based platformer types.

I picked up Quake 2 recently on PC as I only ever played the Playstation version which is apparently shorter due to disc space. But I loved that game.

LAWL. I wonder if anyone gave a ****e at the time? I mean, it's hardly a big time franchise or anything.

Nah I didn't get a response. For those in the know though the indie game market is becoming a bigger and bigger deal. There's a Steam sale about to end so you might want to look into titles like La-Mulana, Sundered, The Messenger, Timespinner, Ori, and see if they might appeal seeing as you played HK.

The Messenger interests me for sure. Gonna get Blazing Chrome this week, which basically looks like a cross between Contra Hard Corps and Metal Slug (apparently with a weapon mechanic similar to the great Gunstar Heroes).
