Best YouTube tennis channel

Hi,

I was wondering what are you favourite YouTube channels for racquet reviews?

Her comes mines:

- Rackets & Runners by far, the GOAT on Youtube, for the quality and the precision of the reviews. Spot-on on almost every he says.
- ALL THINGS TENNIS interesting formats asking player to test racquets and choose
- AC Tennis really detailed reviews, unfortunately not so often
- Team-Tennis-English - Team-Tennis.fr - good and useful reviews
- Tennis Guy Interesting reviews with a different perspective than what you usually hear
- Tennisnerd Probably the biggest on YouTube but the information provided is really repetitive and not always relevant. and he loves his prestige ;)
- PH Tennis quick and straight to the point format if you do not want to see a 15 min video repeating that the sweet spot is a bit bigger than the previous model...
- TennCom I like the person, bu usually I do not understand what he is talking about :) Sorry ;)
- Gladiators Tribe
- Tan Tennis
- ZeroLove
- Tennis Spin (omg)

I like Racket & Runners but they only review rackets that they sell. Wilson pro labs does not exist in Canada so we won't find Blade Pro, Ultra Pro, Ultra Tour in that channel but everything else, Luca is really good reviewer.
Tenncom Beckett is a very knowledgeable tennis reviewer but the voice makes me sleepy.
Tennisnerd is so far the most reliable that I can go to
Gladiator is very fun and cheeky guy with good tennis skill definitely, maybe the highest among all mentioned. But since it's only 1 person instead of 2 (since Areg is gone) it's less entertaining

You're forgetting Karue Sell (MyTennisHQ) who no longer review (if he ever) but teaches about the technique more.

I used to like Tennis Spin when I started playing Tennis because he review tons of gears but now I know that every new thing surprise them all and nothing that they dislike, so it's a not reliable one to go to. Sorry...

I would mention Karue and Winston Du for tennis channels in general, but for racket reviews I agree that I like Racket & Runners the most. PH Tennis can be enjoyable content to consume, but I lost a lot of faith when I think one of them (the one who uses a Speed MP) put that racket as his number one control racket in a top 5 control rackets video.

Tennisnerd is great though. Only thing that has me not rate him higher is that he has quite a flat game whereas mine is very spin oriented, so I have to be a little sceptical of his takes, but that is of course most certainly no fault of his. Despite that I still think he does as well as he can to have his views and takes apply to all types of players.

Would quite possibly like AC Tennis the most if he posted more reviews.

WInston's channel is great when it's not him playing.

Karue is great and must be the highest level of all the youtube tennis players.

I appreciate the content that AC Tennis produces. I'm firm about what kind of racquets I use, so I find Racquet Review content pretty useless for the most part.

What you mean when you say Winston’s channel being great when it’s not him playing? I know he isn’t a high caliber player but it’s not like he doesn’t deserve to be challenging other players. Plus it’s his channel so if he wants to be in a video, let him be?

I mean to say it's amazing when he has high caliber guests on.

Please don’t mention gladiators tribe, the guy talked about the ultra pro being part of the power range from Wilson like it has anything to do with the ultra line

TW is the best because they always have many different reviewers weigh in. I’m not a fan of R&R because his channel only offers one perspective, his own. He also annoyingly gives confident explanations that are either incorrect or misleading. For example, he might say Racquet A is easier to play with than Racquet B because it has modern tech. WTH is modern tech? Care to explain further? I don’t like it when ppl, especially influencers, project themselves as experts on topics they themselves aren’t clear on.

Define expert here. We are all just people who use rackets and have opinions.

There's no racket experts out there. Even people like Roman Prokes are "racket experts" in the sense of which frame is better than another. It's all just opinions.

Here is no different. People dismiss rackets here because the space between the Central mains is too small or too big. People argue that certain RA values are unsafe or "arm wreckers".

They're all just selling products. There's no "objectively better" tennis racket characteristic or quality.

Technical Tennis (the book) is probably the best resource for data behind the variables that impact tennis, but even that will surprise many.

The problem is YouTube is the incessant need to product infinite content. If they don't, they don't survive.

I like Chris Edwards opinions because they tend to mirror my experiences, and because Andy Gerst is no longer around, he's the closest to my spec.

Channels usually come out hot, gain popularity, and eventually fizzle out. I think we're mostly in the "pre-fizzle out" phase for almost every channel mentioned.

But the best part of YouTube? Everyone has SO SO MANY options. There's someone out there for everyone....because someone must be watching TennisSpin!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions on how a racquet feels, plays, etc. But confidently asserting something like a racquet feels a certain way because it doesn’t have modern technology without any evidence whatsoever is simply lazy conjecture. I agree there’s something for everyone out there. Of the solo reviewers, I just personally dislike R&R the most for the reason(s) I stated.

Personally, I like the racquet reviews of TW and TE and catch them on YouTube. I also like the TW VLOG a lot.

I watch Tennis Nerd but am disappointed / very annoyed that much of his content is only now available if you join his channel.

The voice of the TennConn guy turns me off big time. He is too soft spoken in my opinion.

Yeah, I follow Tennis Spin except for the polyester string reviews (my bum elbow does not let me play with poly strings).

Also, I follow Tennis Euphoria racquet reviews and other posters including Tan and others.

Often, I disagree with the guy on Intuitive Tennis.

Karue's videos are very good and I wish him well with his improving ranking!

By far my favorite are the What A Shot highlights of ATP Challenger tournaments - there are a lot of good players and matches on the Challenger Tour!

Best YouTube channel is demoing non stop.
AM Stringing

haha also starting to upload my channel with racket reviews currently.

If anyone likes extended racket Playtests or Serve and Volley. I’ve demoed/bought almost every extend racket out there and going through all my rackets and playtesting them again with SwingVision. Pure Aero Plus, Ezone 98+ 100+, BlackOut XTD, WhiteOut XTD 16x19 and 18x20, Serena 28 Blade, Blade 104, Cx200+, Prince 100G LB, some customs from Bosworth. Just need to get them uploaded and probably leave have some more feedback.

Like them all, even the ones trying to sell me stuff. With all those subs I get 1-2 tennis videos a day, I get my tennis fix

AC tennis for racket reviews is my favorite.
TennCom has great diagrams, but the dude is too verbose, his videos can be a third of the length.
Tennis doctor helped me a lot with FH & serve, good explanations .
CoachLife for fundamentals .
Tennis spin is the worst IMO, tries too hard, and does not really provide any valuable information.
Tennis guy has good reviews, too long, would be great if he follows something similar to AC tennis in structure/format as he has good insights.

For racket reviews?

I like Luca from R&R but he's handicapped because he can only review stuff that the store carries. Which is a shame. And yeah, sometimes he's a bit hung up on "Tech". But I wouldn't be as harsh as PistolPete23.

Tennisnerd is pretty ok as well. But boy if you think he has a flat game, you have never seen me play :-D ... aehm...anyway.

I have watched some Tan Tennis vids, and man, he's all over the place on some pretty similar frames. And if he goes on air with his buddy, to test some prostock, it's all raving reviews and almost no critics...as if pro stocks are somehow always better/magical sticks...talk about biases. It's safe to say: I'm not a fan. He pretty much lost credibility.

Overall, the tennis-tubers all pretty much say the same things over and over again (not all their fault, either) but I do wish some of them would go a bit more nuanced than "100 sq.in = totally forgiving and easier to play" and "98 sq.in = totally whippy and more controlled".

At the end of the day, as Soundbyte said, it's not a science. It's lot of opinions and, with some, years of experience. You need to find, if you can, a reviewer who has similar views as you on some sticks you know. If you can find that, you'll probably get some good advice for your own biases and likes/dislikes.

AC, Guy and Euphoria give the most considered views, rather than just saying each new model is 'a potential switch'.

Tennis Spin has now evolved into a comedy show, which I quite like. Harry's been kicked out of his store, so he just compares random sticks he comes across, and comes up with bizarre ideas to run past various long-suffering coaches.

As for coaching channels, Feel Tennis and Top Tennis Training are excellent. Let us all hope to one day hit like this:

I don’t do much tennis YouTube but I feel like the OP isn’t really grasping their place in the tennis space. There’s no better here, just what you prefer. Analogous to literature, there’s no way to objectively measure something like an opinion on the way a graphite toy interacts with the nervous system. Simply put, to each their own

I was thinking about this lately and there are many good YT tennis reviewers but what is most important is to take those information depending on your own style and level.

Like if Luca from R&R is crazy enthusiastic about certain type of frame, it is because it suits his game which is on a very good level when compared to us here around (at least that´s my impression).

When you play like him and are on his level, than great for you - but for me it means that it might be too much of a racquet for myself :)

I do like him, Tan Tennis, TennCom, AC tennis, Mark Sansait and also Tennis Guy from Czech Republic since he brings also some different views to the racquets that he´s testing.

Unfortunately, many reviewers don´t have the balls to speak their mind because of brand deals etc.
One of the reasons why I quit watching Tennis Spin whom I originally started to follow first some years back...

Not racket review channels but Cult Tennis has entertaining historical and fun content and a shout out to Courtside Tennis. The guy is very knowledgeable, does his research, and provides some very good neutral opinions and commentary with thought and reasoning behind them.

If one gives a bad review which is an opinion at the end of day.. they likely won't get future items from OEMs..
Give any review that is neutral or neutral plus.. items will continue to flow..
For sure. The latest one are the RF01 reviews.
Don’t think anyone have had any “negative” point(s) of them, cos they all know there will most likely be RF02, RF03 and so on… (or RF01 V2, etc…. lol)

Actually, come to think of it, there was on, but it was based on the personal presence….

If done correctly.. negative points can be explained if one takes the bias out of the comments..
It takes talent to drop personal views and explain things without bias..
Rackets and Runner dude does a good job..

Rackets and Runners is a store that sells rackets, so I'm not sure how unbiased he is, but a lot of his insights are excellent. TennCom is good, but I wonder how much of an incentive that they receive from their affiliates to sell products. Both are great reviewers and very entertaining, but I question their objectivity.

I think it goes for pretty much everyone.
However, I think AC Tennis buys and demo his racquets for review out of his pocket, so he won’t have a burden to have to always give “positive” reviews, which is a breath of fresh air, IMO.

Karue is goat!
A/C Tennis
Tennis Warehouse-Chris, Troy, Michelle, Mark
All Things Tennis
Tennis Euphoria
Rackets & Runners & Tenn Com
Tennis Guy
Tennis Gladiators
I appreciate them all though, including Tennisnerd, Tennis Spin, Tan Tennis, etc…

Tenncom Beckett is a very knowledgeable tennis reviewer but the voice makes me sleepy.

I just wanted to chime in on Tenn-com's Beckett. Obviously VERY knowledgeable. Solid channel. Good player.

He may not be very boisterous, but remember that is just in the dna of this super chill-tennis lover.
The reason I posted this is that, for some yt'ers... they are creating in an apartment or townhome, late at night, when their partner may be asleep in the very next room. So perhaps he is just keeping his voice down out of respect for his SO.

He's also on this board and seems like a gentleman.

Cheers

I really wanna know what happened with Tennis Spin. He doesn’t have his shop anymore? Did it go out of business?? Hopefully not

I bet his social media stuff violated his employment contract.

Or the owner thought that he talks so slow that customers would assume their customer service must be slow as well....
