Now that Davydenko has matched Nalbandian with a TMC title to go along with the rest of his career, who do you believe has had the better career between Davydenko and Nalbandian.

Davydenko has the TMC title, an additional final there, one additoinal Masters title, and quite a few more tour singles titles. He also has spent a bit longer consecutive stretch highly ranked than has Nalbandian.

Nalbandian has the semis or better of all 4 slams, a slam final (shock of all shocks at Wimbledon), 1 additional slam semi or better.

Nalbandian has more inventiveness to his game when he's playing well, but Davydenko is a cleaner ball striker. I'd go Davydenko.

I went with Davydenko in part since I think he is maxing out his potential other than a bit of choking in the slams, while Nalbandian obviously has not.

Well Nalbandian did beat prime Federer and Davydenko himself. Still overall you are right, the field was weaker that year than this years event.

Nalbandian beat a prime Federer who hadn't even worked out for a month and had a bum ankle. And Nalbandian was down 2 sets to 0 before Federer gassed and STILL nearly came back.

The same field got crushed by the same Federer who had basically no movement whatsoever. The guy freaking double bagled Gaston Gaudio (granted he sucks on indoors, but still) with a bum ankle. Come on.

Yeah thats true. Didnt all of the top 6 other than Federer pull out that year.

Roddick, Agassi, Nadal pulled out for sure. I don't remember the others. The field was something like Gaudio, Coria, Nalbandian, Davydenko, Ljubicic, Federer, Gonzalez, and someone else (the name escapes me).

Gonzalez replaced someone who pulled out halfway through. I remember that for sure. Hewitt definitely pulled out also. I dont remember who pulled out halfway through for Gonzalez or the other player.
